Human
Humans are the most numerous race in The North, making up the majority of the populations of the Grand Duchy of Novaya, The Velvet Coast, Nordur and Holzreich.
Velvet Coaster
Hail from the fractured city states of The Velvet Coast, the former heartland of The Imperial League. Prior to the recent war between Mevania and Floria, most Coasters were well off, with the area profiting greatly from maritime trade. Each City State on the Velvet Coast considers themselves the rightful successor of the Imperial League and seek to unite the Peninsula under a single ruler, barring the Paladins and Priests of the Order of Alerio on Fortis Isle. Variants: Mevanian, Florian, Tiberian, Southerner, Fortis Islander.Novayan
Citizens of the Grand Duchy of Novaya, lying north of the Artis River. A superstitious people who value their folk tradition and ancient gods. Wary of outsiders, especially the people of Holzreich despite Novayans dwelling on the frontier largely being of mixed Novayan/Holzen ancestry. Variants: Plainsfolk, Riverfolk, Northfolk, FrontiersmenHolzen
Humans hailing from the lands west of Novaya, south of the Khelreach Range. Holzreich is an industrial power, the most technologically advanced of the human nations thanks to their proximity to the Dwarves of the Dorans and their extensive mines. Unlike Novaya and the Velvet Coast, the lands that comprise Holzreich never belonged to the Imperial League and as such Holzens have a strong national identity. The city of Hornstadt became the largest in the known world after the destruction of Skyreach and possesses a large Dwarven expat community. All Holzen citizens are expected to serve sometime in the Reichguard upon reaching adulthood. Variants: City Dweller, Mountaineer, FrontiersmenSiarlanders
The humans of Siarland are more intune with Elven culture than that of the former states of The Imperial League. Many Siarlands, particurly in the Kingdom of Farraige feel a great sense of loyalty to the Elven kingdoms of old.Basic Information
