Emperor Alerio
Alerio, the fallen Founding Emperor of the Imperial League, is the central figure of the Alerian faith and is worshipped throughout the human nations of Orienta. Born a slave in the Velvet Coast region of the Kingdom of Halentha, Alerio rose to lead the Human Rebellion, overthrowing centuries of Elven domination and establishing the Imperial League.
Following his death during the The Devastation of Skyreachin 12 IE, many humans came to believe that Alerio had ascended to godhood. Over subsequent years, this belief developed into The Alerian Faith, now the predominant religion of humanity.
While the divinity of Alerio is accepted by most adherents of the Alerian faith, significant theological disagreement exists regarding the precise nature of his ascension, his relationship to other divine beings, and humanity's obligations to him.
