Bergshale River
The Bergshale River lies in the west of Holzreich and is generally regarded as the dividing feature between Holz and Siarland. Prior to the Reich-Farraigen War, the river marked the border between Holzreich and the Kingdom of Farraige.
Geography
The river flows from the Bergshale lake, lying in a basin on the south eastern reaches of the Khelreach Range. The river itself is surrounded by a dense pine forest. A delta lies at the mouth of the river where it flows into the Gold Sea.
Fauna & Flora
The forest on the western bank of the river boasts a large amount of silvan berries, raspberries and blueberries. Deer are a common sight within these woods, as are hares, and on rare occasion a perceptive watcher might chance upon a sighting of the rare Khelreachean Lynx. Bears are also sighted on occasion foraging for berries or fishing in the shallows of the river.

History
During the Elven Age, the Bergshale River demarked the reach of what was considered civilised Elven territory, with Siarland beyond being considered a frontier wilderness.
The Reichguard's crossing of the river at the beginning of the Reich-Farraigen War is one of the most distincitive memories of Farraigeans whom are old enough to remember.
