Tischkrieg

Tischkrieg is a tabletop wargame played in Holzreich. Originally developed by the Reichguard to train officers in tactics, Tishkrieg has become a popular sport amongst the Holzen nobility.

History

Tischkrieg was developed in the aftermath of the Second War for the Frontierin order to educate trainee Reichguard officers in the tactical lessons learnt from the war. The effectiveness of Tischkrieg as a method of military education was demonstrated by the Reichguard's success in the Third War for the Frontier.

Execution

Tishkrieg is played between two or more players with a referee. Both players roll a six sided die. The player with the higher result has the intiative and chooses whether to act first or second. Both players resolve movement first, moving one unit at a time. Next, the players resolve any charges before proceeding to the combat phase. The players take it in turns resolving combat for each of their units. At the conclusion of the combat phase, the players roll intiative again and the turn cycle repeats.   Once a player has achieved their objective as outlined in the scenario, or a player's force is entirely killed or routed, the game is over. It is customary for competitors ro shakw hands both proceeding and following a game of Tishkrieg.
