Drow Elves

Luxaz used the Void Rod to distort Elves of Lothlindell thus was formed the Drow Elf species. After the Dark Revolt, the Drow along with others fled below the Silvervein Mountains to the Dark Beneath and formed a Subterranean Civilization. One of the founders of the civilization was Dalyl Alemdan who was a leader in the Dark Revolt. He also helped establish the Benighted Bizarre where all manner of goods and services both legal and illegal are traded by various species and ethnicities. The Drow tend to be a reclusive race, but many still interact with those outside their enclave.

The Benighted Bizarre provides an outlet for the sale of mold, fungi, plants, insects, worms, and other flora and fauna found in the caves deep below the Silvervein Dwarves. The Bizarre is also a place where Drow traders can join caravans to take their goods into the broader world. The Drow are also fine makers of poisons, tisanes, and other concoctions. Recently, one of their major exports is a bluegreen mold which consumes bacteria, parasites, and other plant pests. This mold has been named Defuse for its ability to remove the magical Fuse bacteria from rice plants. This is especially valuable in Octiragrin at this time because most of the continent's rice contains the taint. It causes an illness in mages known as Fusion which can leave the mage without magic and/or critically ill even leading to death. Much Defuse has been sold to the healers at Healers Hall at Octischolarus Magus in Tirfalon where it has been studied and a cure known as Defusion has been developed. The proceeds from Defuse alone have enabled the Drow to make vast improvements in their living and working areas.

The Drow value silent,unseen movement. They have historically kept to the shadows and were rarely seen by outsiders. However, if you can find them, some of them make great thieves, infiltrators, and assassins. There are guilds for such occupations in the Drow enclave.

Beauty Ideals

The Drow are somewhat ashamed of their looks because they still hold light elves such as the Elves of Lothlindell and the Elves of Legira in higher regard than themselves. They see them as the ideal for beauty. However, some of the younger Drow are breaking this stigma by dressing more flamboyantly and dying their white hair in bright colors or combinations of colors.
