The Wardancer's Battlefield

This vast walled complex within Nexus was given to the orcs after their aid to the Kingdom in the great war. In the years since Clan Wardancer has made their keep unmistakably orcish in appearance. The keep is mostly empty these days because the orcs expect the Kingdom to put an end to their peace treaty and oust them any day soon.   Wardancer's Battlefield is a fortress rebuilt to reflect the powerful and fierce culture of the orc tribe it represents, the smell of roasting meats and the sound of drums and war horns can be heard throughout the complex. The living quarters are simple, with furs and skins covering the floors, and weapons hanging from the walls.   The embassy is home to a relatively small number of orcs and their families, as well as a small contingent of Wardancers who are responsible for protecting the keep and its inhabitants. The orcs who live in the keep are selected from among the tribe's most powerful and respected warriors and are tasked with representing the tribe's interests in the human kingdom, negotiating trade agreements and other diplomatic matters.

Architecture

The embassy is made with black stone and adorned with Wardancer Clan symbols and banners. The walls are tall and imposing, with guard towers at regular intervals. The gates are made of iron bars, jagged and rusty spikes protrude from every defensible position, the skulls of the clan's enemies adorn many of them. Femur bone wind chimes, garish severed limbs and other blood spattered decorations hang from the walls. Inside the keep, the halls are adorned with trophies of war, such as the heads of defeated enemies, weapons and armor taken from fallen foes. The floors are made of hard packed earth.   Despite its imposing appearance, the orc embassy is generally peaceful, but the orcs are always prepared for war and have a powerful army at their disposal if needed. They also have an underground arena where they train their soldiers and hold gladiatorial games to entertain their visitors.

History

40 years ago when the Necromancer's War threatened all life in the realm the orcs of Clan Wardancer decided to join the Kingdom of Man and fight against the dead, they were given an old and damaged fortress in order to keep the orc separate from the goodly folk and especially the dwarves of The Fellhammer Clan. If this alliance was victorious Clan Wardancer demanded to be recognized as an allied independent nation and be given land both within and without Nexus to rule as they see fit. After the war the fort was re-classified an embassy and was gifted to the orcs as a symbol of gratitude for their help. The entrenched orcs, fighting from Wardancer's Battlefield, were instrumental in turning the tide against the undead hordes.
