Throne of Stars
The Throne of Stars is so called because it is the 3rd highest structure in Nexus (behind the The Great Lighthouse and The Sniper's Watchtower). It is home to many rookeries from pigeons to griffons and most everything in between. Followers of the old Goddess Akadi, the Queen of Air, tend to the flying animals that inhabit the tower. The Akadites also engage in husbandry and training of the winged creatures: they train pigeons and crows as messengers, hawks and eagles as hunting companions, griffons and giant owls as mounts. There is also a small glade of tall trees around the Throne of Stars, affording all the other small birds such as finches, sparrows and starlings ample room to roost.
The very top of the tower has been converted from its original purpose to service a flying ship called the The Windrider because it is the safest and highest place in the city proper.
Architecture
The imposing spire of white-veined black marble rises almost 200 ft above street level, graceful arches rest upon slender columns that ring the circumference of the tower. Each floor is dedicated to a different avian beast and the bas-reliefs of the animals in question indicate which. There are wooden platforms and poles jutting out of the structure to facilitate the perching of the winged guests. A triangular wooden structure was erected at the very top of the tower breaking up the circular design.
