  • King Uther raises his army and hastens northward, joined by the forces of Roestoc and Maris. However, in his haste, the army is ambushed by the Saxons on the road. He fights a desperate battle near Pocklington (misnamed by Logres chroniclers as the Battle of Eburacum), from which he barely escapes with great loss.
