Duke Gorlois calls upon the Dumnonii to rise up against Idres and many Picts join as well. The gathered army is met by the larger army led by King Idres amidst the Blackdown Hills. The broken, hilly ground is perfect for the Pictish scouts, and Idres’ army ends up being ambushed and defeated.
