River Kingdom of Nim (Nim)

The Kingdom is named Nim, while Tsaoin is the name of the country it occupies.   The Kingdom of Nim was the first official government by the elves which sought to encapsulate all of Elvish territory. The kingdom was formed to grow the necessary resources to defend themselves against mystics. The only territory which did not formally join would be those who stayed in Ghei Wyl after the tragedy caused by the Hailen Ryr, as they did not believe it was a mortals place to fight heavenly beings. Naturally, the opinions of those in Ghei Wyl would change during their human occupation.   Nim is a powerful alliance that generally lets its people self govern unless the country enters wartime, and they promote ideas of unity, defending the weak, while also allowing one to decide their own path in life. This freedom only goes so far, however, as you cannot simply join the Western Elvish kingdom. However, living tax free has made Nim popular ever since the Elves learned that taxes were common place among the human kingdoms (which is now an empire). This lack of tax and focus on tariffs has made progress more difficult than it may have needed to be with regards to developing the necessary resources to become a recognizable nation, but the early years of dedication and nationalism helped to make up for this.   Nim has no access to magic aside from Renadi imports. This puts them at an even greater disadvantage with regards to their military power. In modern times, magic is hardly used as a weapon, so this would not typically be an issue. The Western Elvish Kingdom of Urale hardly follows this standard, though. Urale has extensive access to rituals, alchemy, machinery, and self made artifacts. They are the most magically inclined people of the 5th age, even though they understand the cost of such overexertion.   Only one king has ever headed Nim- Vhou Riyael. His allies include the Kalans, Rojans, and a shaky relationship with occupying human colonies. Some believe that Riyael will turn on the colonies as soon as the war between kingdom Nim and kingdom Feneyl has concluded.

"Mend the path"

Military support pact

The relationship between Nim and Roja began when Roja was still a theocracy. Can-en and King Riyael maintained good relations and made pacts regarding trade obligations and military support. With the death of Can-en, the council decreased the cost of tariffs on Tsaoin. Riyael was a staunch supporter of continuing the council after its trial run and was the first to recommend that Can-en's informants should take his place.

non-aggression pact

Nim and Kala get along fairly well. There have been minor racial conflicts that have erupted, but by and large, Nim allows documented J'barri workers to visit their kingdom and vice versa.
