King Rank/Title in Laminarum | World Anvil

King

The title of king is used by many rulers within the continent of Silse. It has always been a title of heredity. The term "Queen" is not used in Silse. Both male and female monarchs are referred to as "King."   Kings are referred to as "His/Her Honor," which was originally a term for arbiters, intermediaries, or similar occupations. Kings are seen as individuals who must uphold fair Justice over their people, and as such are referred to as one may refer to a judge.

Cultural Significance

People of Roja have a history of good relations with the Eastern Elves, and see the entire office of "King" as representative of their relations to their kindest Pride Leader, Can-en. Humans see this title as similar to that of their Augurs, but still see the Augurs as above the kings, given that the humans rule an empire.
