Discovery, Exploration
The first sighting of the gnomes in Silse, after Vhou Riyael attempted to build a port village in the newly risen Britmail Forest.
After many years of uncertainty for the elves, the arrival of Eshiren allowed safety across the coasts of Silse, leading them to divulge their resources into the sandy beaches of the north, but their building materials would need to come from the Britmail forest. It was here that they would discover the burrows and tree houses of the gnomes, which were hitherto unheard of. Sharing some physical characteristics of the elves, the anxious smallfolk came around quickly to their neighbors. Wondering how the subterranean people had gone so long without being noticed, they managed to establish communications. The gnomes simply said that they had "burrowed down long ago, and when we came up, all was different." The gnomes would go on to tell stories of labyrinthian burrows that they had been disconnected from, and an above-ground utopia, long passed. Upside down waterfalls, giant rays that flew like birds, and plants that grew from the sun's sap. Whether they were stories of legend, from a time long past, or a faraway realm is unknown, but they don't seem to be capable of returning. After their discoveries, they would begin venturing above ground. and rarely assimilating into the villages of the elves. The gnomes were strictly protective over the Britmail though, as they considered it the one cultural center they truly had. Whatever building materials the elves wanted, it couldn't come from there.
