Bloodwaters Park

"Here we remember all of those who have fallen as humanity drags itself out of the long darkness and moves to dominate our enemies and detractors."   ~Inscription on a placard next to the gates of Bloodwaters Park

Demographics

Bloodwaters Park is primarily operated, maintained, and populated by members of the Bloodshard clan. It has more Halflings living on the surface than anywhere else in Krezzym. Most of the population that lives in the residential buildings north of the park itself either work towards maintenance of the park or work for the various shrines and temples around the city and belong to the Ecclesiastical class.

Government

Decisions for Bloodwaters Park and the day-to-day necessities are overseen by a closet council appointed by the Elector Council of the City.       Mayor: Aefelida Bloodshard   Magistrate: Aethelwithe Fellstrike   Cunning One: Aegelric Duda   Plutarchs: Beletiva Gorbash, Hunfirth Lakmor, Ealdgifu Firstglory, Mindred Fellstrike, Oslac Weejet   Sheriff: Cameleac Hayell     Theocratic Management:   Archbishop of Cambreath: Wermund Rivers   High Priestesses of Reverence: Mallafae Bloodshard, High Priestess of Domielle. Lifherena Noblewhite, High Priestess of Morwal, Winferi Noblewhite, High Priestess of Vhara   Head Deacon of the Mysteries of Death: Erevan Hollygem

Infrastructure

Bloodwaters Park has large tenement homes to house the workers, mostly funded by the churches. Nearer to the park, there are manses housing many of the priests and clergy of the city.

Districts

The District of Bloodwaters Park is divided into three sections: the park, the neighborhood, and the Ossuary.

Guilds and Factions

There is a 'secret' struggle between the Deminites and the Reverents over political control of the district. While the Reverents have more people, the Deminites have more money and influence so the balance is largely static.

Tourism

The Bloodwaters Park itself is renowned for its beauty and its mushroom crops. The trees bear a variety of fruits, all of them imported into the area. A treasure is rumored to be hidden in the Park, bringing seekers, but digging is illegal and must be done in secret.

Architecture

The buildings on the residential side of the district are brutally practical, cramming as much usable space in them as possible to house 3-4 families inside of homes normally sized for one. The manses are more traditional, alabaster houses with red tile roofs. In the park proper, there are earthwork mounds that if viewed from the air would depict the Final Crusade of Tor, with several of the mounds representing the saint and his men and the largest mound representing the dragon Yeaxoderinx as it was smote by his spear. A babbling brook girded at its spring source, which is girded by redroot trees which discolor the waters into a livid, almost cartoonish red. This 'bloodspring' meanders along a carefully arranged track to snake along the mounds and ultimately terminate into a cistern that leads out into the Grasping River.

Natural Resources

Mushrooms and fruit are available for forage, and a variety of arboreal rodents provide ample sling practice for the city's youth.
