The history of the home of the second largest power in the SS
The first arrival of humans on Mars. Landing at what would become Utopia Base, a SpaceX Starship with 20 people came down to begin the long process of colonization. This base would be partly funded by the United Nations, and as such became the UN Utopia Colony.
Though it was initially thought infeasible, on this date the first child is born on Mars. His parents came over 3 years previously, and had met on the trip over.
After a series of small scale migrations, the permanent population on Mars passes 1000 people. They are spread across 2 bases, Utopia and Phoenix, and are just the seed for what is to come.
The first and to date only Interplanetary war between "Major Powers". While losses were minimal, the public outcry to them caused the end of the war before Earth could even send their troops over.

After a brief struggle for independence and the first interplanetary war, the PDRM constitution is signed and accepted by the UN, forming the PDRM. It begins as just the colonists of the UN run colony of Utopia, but eventually spreads to cover all of Mars, her two moons and many other areas.
This is the date on which the UN agreed to send a diplomat to the PDRM and allocated space near the UN building in New York for a similar embassy on Earth.
This is the point in time when the last colony, Phoenix Base, formally left the United Nations and joined the PDRM. With that, all humans on mars were citizens of the PDRM. However, Phobos and many orbital stations were still theoretically part of the UN or controlled by some Earth Nation.
The official founding of the only branch of the martian military, founded to protect martian space assets from a perceived threat from the continually growing UN space presence above mars.
This marks the real transition of Mars into a fully independant planet, not an offshoot of Earth. At this point, around 60% of the population is native martian grown.
At this point, all space stations, Phobos, Deimos and Mars herself are controlled either by the PDRM, or by companies based in the PDRM.
