Official Founding of the PDRMN

Founding

The official founding of the only branch of the martian military, founded to protect martian space assets from a perceived threat from the continually growing UN space presence above mars.

Initially just a pair of 50 ton orbital maneuvering craft, each with a single turreted coilgun and a crew of 3, this organization grew into the second largest space based military in the Solar System. The official formation took the form of a budgetary request for the above mentioned vehicles, which were then tracked and managed by a small governmental office, which grew into the PDRMN. These vessels were launched into inclined martian orbits aboard large, chemical rockets, and were primarily manned by rotating shifts of already space based personell, due to the relatively high cost of launch.
