Diplomatic action

This is the date on which the UN agreed to send a diplomat to the PDRM and allocated space near the UN building in New York for a similar embassy on Earth.

This date is representative of the diplomatic warming between the 2 states after the recent war, and a true recognition of the PDRM as a separate sovereign entity by the United Nations. It also marked the first time that true interplanetary diplomacy was carried out, as light lag prevents direct communication. While nowadays these complexes have turned into sprawling encampments as each is each others primary diplomatic rival, the initial embassies were small, a 3 story office building on Earth, and a small, disconnected dome on Mars.
