Senpadida Siobkun

The Senpadida Siobkun are the remnants of Mul-Zamain's powerbase, reforged into a religion to be reckoned with. A cult of fanatics, they worship a being who almost became a god, arguably, he actually achieved divinity. The Siobkun preach tolerance and understanding in regards to most, and genocide in regards to the rest. Whatever one's feeling on the matter, they are not to be trifled with.

Public Agenda

The Senpadida Siobkun publicly state that they only wish to spread the "good" word of Mul-Zamain to all of the Rift, except Achronis. Accoridng to them, every Achroni deserves to die and meet The Saviour, so they can be cast into the fire's of eternal damnation.
How many of it's members believe this is suspect, as many a Lati and Lerin have risen to prominence with the backing of the cult behind them

Assets

Officially, the cult only owns some starships, a (relatively) small emergency fund, and a few temples on most Larani worlds, which while a lot, are mostly small step pyramids used for worship and a living pace for cult members, and naught else. This would be a surprise for how influential they are in Laran, but for their official alliance and sponsorship with the House of Zamain. THis is largely predicated on the legitimacy and influence gained by the cult's proclamation of them as Zamain's true successors, despite being an upstart Dynasty which only emerged a millennia after his death. The Dynasty supplies them with funds, troops, expanded bases, and more, as long as the cult continues to recognize them as Mul-Zamain's heirs.

Unofficially, the cult draws in many donations from Lati and Lerin seeking the cult's approval and political clout. They are usually mustered in war's of faith against upstart houses who seek to set a higher power than Mul-Zamain, and are most often directed against The Imperial Cult.

History

The Senpadida Siobkun originated as Mul-Zamain's personal power base, helping him ammass his strength before he purged Laran of most of its Dynasties of Power. THen they acted as his main support network until his death, when most of their assets were destroyed in the Battle of Kaseibeiut along with their leader. They went underground for a while, before resurfacing as a completely reformed religious sect. Form there they spent their time doing much of what they do today, converitng more people to the good word of Mul-Zamain, though they spent most of that time unchallenged. It was only during the Impirator's rise, along with that of The Imperial Cult, that the Siobkun was bumped down to second place religion. A feirce rivalry develloepd between the two that persists to this day, and the most destructive internal conflicts usually happen between these two cults.

Military

The military matters of the Siobkun are left largely to House Zamain, however they are blostered considerably by  Lati and Lerin devouts, who fight on the cult's behalf.

Religion

Aside from their main deity, the main difference between the Siobkiun and The Imperial Cult is their attitude toward other Lati and other gods. The Siobkun tends to gian more converts as their only tenant when syncretising pantheons and religons is that Mul-Zamain is placed at the head of the new pantheon. The more lenient Qebins have allowed Mul-Zamain to be sycretized with the head of whatever pantheon is being melded. Aside from that one rule, any and all other deities are allowed in the cult, though it is that one rule which brings them into conflict with The Imperial Cult.

Foreign Relations

The Siobkun have the largest presence outside Laran, being cionsiudered a non-threat by most of the worlds which make up the Spirit Cartel.

Mythology & Lore

Most of the legends or tales the Siobkun tells are simply actual or exaggerated tales from Mul-Zamain's life story. The sheer gravity of the man makes it so that few of the tales need to be exaggerated to create an epic narrative.

Divine Origins

The Siobkun started as Mul-Zamain's personal power base, an army based on what would become Nafok Aguot. They worshipped him, as do the powerbases of most Lati, but it was only in their resurgence a few centuries after his death that they became a full-blown religion. Few know what they did during that time, though most suspect it was simply recuperating their losses.

Tenets of Faith

Mul-Zamain is renowned for reaching godhood, or so most, especially the cult, believe. Cult clergy have turned this into a message which amounts to "never give up". They adopt many of Mul-Zamain's personal philosophies into doctrine. Zamain was famous for his practicality, and his aversion to Laran's Master Race philosophy, granting anyone a place in his court if they were useful. The cult parrots this, granting all of its members and adherents, be they Lati or Lerin, Human, Makassi, or alien, and grants them a place, with some Lerin even rising to become the Qebin. The cult preaches loyalty and integrity and casts great shame upon those who break their oaths. The cult is also surprisingly lenient with its pantheon, allowing any Lerin to worship any Lati, as long as they recognize the Saviour as the head of every variant pantheon of Lati.
Meta: All in all, the modern incarnation of the cult turned a Genocidal Tyrant's philosophy into one of the most wholesome and respectable in all of Laran, which isn't a high bar but it's still impressive.

It is worth noting however, that this doesn't apply to those from Achronis. As far as the cult is concerned, any hostile or evil action taken against Laran's most hated enemy is a good action, and many a Reqenqam Kulso have turned a surefire loss into a complete victory by whipping up a nationalistic fervor in the Larani combatants. Some scholars suspect that many of the Lati Kulso use some sort of Inkallu, but this doesn't account for the larger number of Lerin who have done so.

Worship

The worship of Mul-Zamain and the Siobkun usually involves a weekly visit to a local temple, burning a little incense, and bowing & scraping before an effigy of Zamain. Most of the more ardent cult members also wear a cult of Zamain pendant around their necks, an image synonymous with Laran, a small snake curled in a reverse S shape.

Priesthood

The Cult of Zamain is much less regimented than The Imperial Cult, working in small convents running temples, with a convent leader, a regional leader, and a Speaker for Zamain. Something completely unique to the cult however, is their complete disregard for normal Larani social norms. Aliens and Lerin have as much protection as Lati within the cult.

The Convent Leader is known as the Reqenqam Kulso is the head of one of Mul-Zamain's temples, acting simply as a leader during worship, and having direct authority over no one save the other clergy. While they are often petitioned to for advice and guidance, on more rural worlds being seen as community heads, they are simply priests.

Then Qobies Ides is a regional head for the Siobkun, usually having one in place for entire branches of the streams. Due to cult doctrine and the decentralized nature of the Siobkun, they rarely have more work to do than advising Kulsi who need help, and running their own temple. In any other way, they act as another Reqenqam Kulso, the main difference, other than those listed above, being their access and consultation with the Qebin.

The Qebin is the head of the entire cult of Zamain. It is an elected position from the standing Qobies Ides, and while unusual, it is not rare to have a Lerin as head of the cult. The Qebin has to answer to the Laka COuncil about the cult's actions and acts as their main ambassador to every other organization, though due to the size of the cult, ambassadors more often come to the Qebin.

Political Influence & Intrigue

The Siobkun has proven to be surprisingly influential in Larani and Lati politics, facilitating the rise and fall, mostly fall, of many Dynasties. One denouncement is liable to place any minor, or even middle class, house on the edge of extinction, its members hunted down by the fervent worshippers of Zamain's Cult. As such, most of the Laka do their best to appease the Siobkun as they would rather not deal with the headache having a quarter of their populace riled against them would cause. The Siobkun is one of the few organizations which can breach Laran's Propaganda wall, and that power makes the clergy of Zamain an incredibly dangerous variable.

Shared Religious Figure

THe Siobkun and the Cult are on friendly terms, largely for their shared adoration of Mul-Zamain. While the Siobkun would prefer they worship their Saviour as a more important figure than the Feather or the World, they are ok with how he's followed now.

One of many State Religions

The Senpadida Siobkun do not always view Laran with a great lens, largely due to the existence, prominence, and popularity of its main rival. Laran, on the other hand, largely adores the Siobkun.

Religions Within State

The Gold Viper doesn't have any opinion on the Cult of Zamain, but the Siobkun does like them, as they worship their Saviour.

The Siobkun and the Devoted would logically be at war, as the devoted are even more fanatical than their parent organizationt, but due to their role more as the Impirator's secret police rather than religious group, the two ahve a largely neutral relationship.

Religious Rivalry

Due to both vying to be the dominant religion of Laran, and the very violent nature of its citizens, the Imperial Cult and the Senpadida Siobkun are engaged in near all-out war whenever and wherever they can, only pausing their conflicts when absolutely necessary, for national unity, or under penalty of death.

Purge

The Siobkun want all Achroni exterminated as hereticxs and demons, the Achroni dont want that, understandably, there's a lot of tension.
