Dynasty of Power

The Lati Organizational System

A Dynasty of Lati. The Dynasties act as Noble houses in Fuedal societies, with sigils, coats of arms, sayings, and all the hallmarks of a Game of Thrones-esque story. The main separating feature is that aside from every key member being a Lati, excepting certain Houses, these relations are more malleable than butter with a hot knife. Vassals regularly switch allegiance, and agents that worked for a House one day will be toppling it the next. Many Dynasties are held together by familial ties and some of the most infamous value blood more than water, though most Lati feel no loyalty to the Dynasty they were born into aside from a way to gain more power.   Most Dynasties control their own stretches of Larani space, and are given jurisdiction on how to govern their provinces, as long as they pay their tithe to the Impirator. Most Dynasties are sensible enough to realize that a happy populace is better at their jobs, and so provide the base minimums as well as a few luxuries, to keep the populace happy, as well as using an upper-class secret and blatant police force to crush dissidents. The Lerin are very rarely a threat to a Lati's rule, so they keep the closest eye on the other Lati they employ.   Each seat of the Laka Council also has its own Dynasty which is less vulnerable to change than most. It is recognized as both the safest place for a Lati  to be, as well as an organization without much advancement potential. As such, to most, getting assigned to one of the six powerbases is considered a punishment.

Notable Dynasties

House of Farun: Notable as one of the only Dynasties that values loyalty and blood relations more than dirt, the Farun Dynasty hasn't had an assassination orchestrated from someone in the House against the House in close to three centuries. Aside from their familial ties, the Dynasty controls a heavily fortified stretch of the Tzaran Streams, an area where the Stream Tides are locked moving against any incoming traffic, making it easy to defend against attacking navies.
House of Xulias: The Dynasty of Xulias is another atypical House. Their territory is restricted to a single system that had several planets, already inhabited by natives. While the only strange thing about their territory thus far was the size, considering how well known they are, the strange thing was how they interacted with the natives. Instead of enslaving and genociding them, Xulias incorporated them into the power structure as protected members. The natives in their territory are allowed to do their own thing, as long as they pay fealty to the House. Going even further, Lati  trained by Xulias members are known to incorporate the nature magic of the natives who live on the capital planet of the system.
House of Yolilitzcoatl: The Dynasty of Yolilitzcoatl is infamous for its hierarchical turnover rate. It is a stroke of luck for the embedded members that the Dynasty hasn't toppled and been divided up by other Houses as of yet. This is entirely due to the controlled territory. Despite Yolilitzcoatl members and their vassal's territory resembling more a warzone than a unified organization, their near-monopoly on healing practices, the premier medical service in all of Laran, very few Lati have dared to interfere with their internal affairs, for fear of them and their entire powerbase losing out on valuable medical services. In the last ten years, the House of Yolilitzcoatl has had three times as many heads and countless more Lati in different positions of power.
