This is a figure shrouded in mystery, as he and his most devoted followers have worked to cover up all traces of his existence and identity. Now, four hundred and forty nine years after his ascension to the Impirator of Laran, the only thing known about him is his gender, and a few whispers and secrets about his current goings-on.

Personal history
Near nothing is known about the Impirator, before their ascension or since. He and a specific section of The Imperial Cult known as The Devoted have erased as much information regarding him as they can, leaving only speculation, rumors, and wild mysteries.
What is known/speculated is that the Impirator ascended to the head of Laran and claimed the title for himself. There were no challengers, and so he decreed the start of a new era. He has made four public appearances since every time appearing only as a figure shrouded in shadow. Many suspect that it wasn't even him at those appearances as most happened in the century following his ascension, but accounts attest to the dark presence of the space he inhabited. Many would doubt his continued existence, if not for the history of Lati who claimed the title suddenly dying. Some were suffocated to death by telekinesis, some spontaneously combusted, others were found with knives in their guts.
They always died upon making public proclamations of their claim on the title, so whether or not the original Impirator is still around, there is a force, likely The Devoted which is still acting in his stead, assassinating anyone who claims the title.
