Impirator
The Impirator is the Ruler of all Laran. They are recognized as the most powerful Lati of their time, and as the living embodiment of power. THeir presence is enough to make most mortals shake in fear, and they are known to be death incarnate. Alas, an Impirator is simply a mortal, no matter how much they envision themselves a god, and all do what mortals do. They fall.
Qualifications
The only qualifications required for the Impirator is that they are powerful enough to claim the title and fight off any contendors. In Ages past, the turnover rate of Impirator's has been a matter of days, but the current Impirator has reigned for nearly half a millennium.
Requirements
Appointment
The Impirator gain's their title by claiming it in an official proclamation once the current/previous Impirator has been removed from power. Technically, they are then the Impirator, but that doesn't mean people will follow them. IT is only once they prove that they can hold the title that most Lati fall into line.
Duties
The Impirator technically is tasked with governing Laran as an absolute monarch, but usually, they don't hold the office long enough to make any major changes. Either that or they leave all the governing to the Laka Council and do their own thing. That is what the current Impirator has done.
Benefits
History
The Impirator title was first established after Mul-Zamain was killed during a battle with Achronis. Zamain himself never needed a title as he was already the defacto head of Laran, and his successor felt the need to legitimize themself with a new title. It didn't help, as they were killed barely a week later, but the title persisted.
