Inkallu

Inkallu is essentially a synonym for Magic. Magic exists as a word but most use it only to refer to a specific branch of Inkallu practitioners. Inkallu is the ability to channel Kali Energy  into a physical form to do things science currently can't figure out. It takes on a very religious role within most cultures, and those who are sensitive to Inkallu are known as the Inkallu. Inkallu practitioners come in many forms but the most notable are the Lati, the Nameless Servants, the Yar, and the Alchemists. The first two-channel Kali Energy through emotion, the difference being the Lati are empowered by emotion and the Nameless Servants detach themselves from it. The Yar use what is known as magic, incantations, and components required for rituals to empower someone, while the Alchemists are fairly obvious from their name.

Inkallu always has a distinct smell, and it is unique to each Inkallu. For some it changes, for some, it is always the same. For non-Inkallu, the usage of magic smells to them like the unique smell of the caster. Say Vari is channeling lightning after having not slept for a few days, it will smell like acid to her and anyone else who can't channel Inkallu themselves.
