Holidays and Festivities: New Years - The Great Pulse Parade "Cerulia Carole"
An annual parade that celebrates the [Great Lake Carole] and its network of rivers that the Capital City of Aldwynn is built upon. It is a longstanding tradition that potentially dates back to the country's inception, one which is begun on the Eve of the new year - And is celebrated by the citizens who all watch as the Great Lake's waterbugs fill the aqueducts and rivers, illuminating the entire city and countryside in a bask of cerulean light.
The parade is a typical one, beginning on the eve of the new year and one that goes from dusk till dawn, celebrating all forms of food, drink and culture native to the city. One notable tradition is that every household shall place a small basket in the river, usually accompanies by an offering, usually, bread or fruits unless in times of famine, where it can be replaced with flowers of all sorts - which typically accompanies the morsels sent down the river as a means to thank the Lady of the Lake for her protection over the city.
The main city typically marks the start of the new year with fireworks and a show of letting off lanterns accompanied with letters to loved ones who had passed that year in homage to their memory.
