Aldwynn, Baria

The Capital City of Baria. Aldwynn is not just the home of [ARK] but also where all Knights go to train and hone their skills; they are an ancient Kingdom and have been around long before even Candria. It has seen more ways than one can imagine and has withstood thousands of sieges that none have ever been able to break. It is also where all knights, Cavalry and their ilk, are trained. Some say they are the first Kingdom, which wouldn't be too farfetched.   Aldwynn is the oldest city among Baria, and has stood for more than ten thousand years, possibly even longer. It is the homeplace of the first Human clans and still holds true to its long history and bloodlines. Being built upon a system of Rivers known as “The Great Pulse”, and right by Lake Carole – Aldwynn is a city that not only has high walls as fortification, but also a grand network of spiraling rivers throughout the city. It built its walls around the lake, and everything is contained within the city that it can be self-sufficient for months if not years without any outside interference.   Because of its rivers and design, Aldwynn has a litany of bridges and buildings built over them, giving clean and running water to its citizens and shifting the sewage through its various, and legendary underground Aquaducts. The reason for their famous status is due to their design, and that they have apparently held since the countries inception, making them older than just about any existing manmade structure in the world. Not only that; along with the system of Aquaducts that stretch to all corners of the city, but there are also the famous catacombs that branch off of them, built alongside the water ways and used to bury the dead since long ago. This can be found beneath the [Domus Chevalliere], the Great Colliseum, and it houses the dead Knights and Gladiators from long ago.   Much like Candria; Barian’s respect their dead and created a monument to them that encompasses the depths of the city's underground networks, however they don’t believe they must return to the earth, rather they mummify their bodies and place them within their own sarcophagus. There is also the area beneath the [Baldwyn Damasca] that also houses the final resting chambers of the Nobles of Baria, said to house every King and Paladin to ever exist.   The city itself takes design of a Baroque-Victorianesque style architecture and cobblestone roads, complete with cobblestone roads and narrowed streets full of tall, tightly packed apartment buildings in the city – With much larger homes and gardens the further out one goes. It is built upon a hill; with the Aldwynn Palace in its center and the city built around it, almost giving it the nuances of a single, massive castle from afar.
