Port City Piore

Piore is lush with all kinds of things, brimming with wares and foods from all over. It's well known for the hundreds of 'mounds', as the locals call them; long stone spires are now home to hundreds of thousands of residents who go between each spire with 'flying foxes', bridges and even magick. The spires are massive, dwarfing much of the coastline and were once home to a race of large extinct insectoids that thrived on the wet climates, making burrows within the spires that its citizens have now built their homes within. It isn’t clear exactly how these spires formed, but erosion is a major factor that is taken into consideration.   It is wholly unique for the style of architecture; simplistic, yet able to weather the harshest storms. Despite its positioning on the coastline; the dwellings have been carved within its highest parts, where the rough waves cannot reach. Of course; there are the times that the waves do exceed the norm, though the inhabitants are able to take the internal pull rope elevators, that connect to the underground crystal caverns that they can use to travel inland. The caverns don’t often flood, and the locals take great measures to ensure that the only openings these cavers do have, are the ones within the spires, the very same that the insects used to travel inland.   They are also home to Agrovia’s largest glowworm colonies, making for a beautifully illuminated interior which the locals have carved out to create a unique place for them to live.   Another popular means of transport is, of course, boats. Because the central city of Piore is built on a giant pier, it is often named the city built upon the sea. A large ring surrounds the town, created as a dam to regulate the ocean and prevent waves from destroying the port, and much research has gone into controlling the seas around this illustrious city.
