17th century

The 17th century in Helerin was marked by the resolution of Remon's civil war, which ended early in the century.
In Teros, Shurok of Kerenna declared a breakaway state in the north, but his rebellion was eventually quashed. Remon invaded Forbin and captured the city of Hapros, further altering the balance of power in the region.
These events contributed to ongoing instability across Helerin, with shifting alliances and territorial disputes shaping the century's historical landscape.

• Battle of the Dayn: Nemarn of Remon is defeated on the banks of the River Dayn by the son of Girin II (with an army led by his maternal uncle Otharn). The young prince goes on to reclaim the throne for House Erloss as Girin III (age 11).

• Girin III of Remon dies suddenly of an ilness (age 20) and is succeeded by his uncle Otharn (age 44).

• Shurok Trentin, Lord of Kerenna, declares a breakaway state in Northern Teros. His supporters (including many poor farmers and miners) come to be known as the Sons of the Dust. Shurok takes control of Kerenna and the north-south road.

1641

• Birth of Prothus of Teros.
• First Battle of Kerenna: Lormand of Teros attempts to recapture Kerenna from Shurok and the Sons of the Dust, but is killed (age 41) in the battle. He is succeeded by his young son Frishak III (age 17). The city remains in Shurok's control.

1643

• Second Battle of Kerenna: Frishak III of Teros defeates the Sons of the Dust, and their leader Shurok is killed.

1647

• Otharn of Remon dies (age 72) and is succeeded by his son Dayn III.

• Birth of Jinar II of Teros.

1655

• Dayn III of Remon dies (age 54) and is succeeded by his son Flandris III (age 20).

1657

• The Curmon Massacre: a feud between tribes results in a massacre outside the town of Curmon. Dozens are killed.

1660-1669

1665

• Flandris III of Remon breaks off an engagement to Vena of Hapros to marry Lirris of Jaltra. The snub is used by several Lords Guardian to start a war, with Remon facing Gilrim, Westrun and Midrun.

1666

• The Siege of Jaltra: a fleet of ships from Forbin blockade the island city of Jaltra. Hundreds die in the city before winter storms cause the blockades to collapse. one
• Birth of the brigand Harya Shestun in Tabann.

1668

• Birth of Messindath of Remon.

1669

• Battle of Hapros: Remon invades Hapros from the sea. Flandris III, is killed in the battle (age 34) but Remon takes the city. Commander Ferron serves as regent for the new queen Messindath (age 1), fortifying the city as an outputs of Remon.

• A storm surge floods the southern coasts of Great Forbin, western Mar Miskun, and the Seynan Islands. Many perish, with Sar Ferrat, Ashanok, and Olbrint very badly hit.

• Keeva from Gilrimmon migrate to the Seynan Islands and repopulate Anar Frar.
• Frishak III of Teros dies (age 53) in Persothan, and is succeeded by his son Jinar II (age 23).

• Tarok Trentin, grandson of Shurok rebels against Teros. His attempts to gather support fail, and he is betrayed and murdered on the Isle of Yrok.
• Death of Jale Ferron, Regent Commander of Hapros.

• Jinar II of Teros is overthrown in a coup at Olnath and killed (age 40) by Prothus, who then seizes the crown (age 53).

1695

• Birth of Jorrel IV of Remon.

1698

• Birth of Brollo Montroman (Brollo the Betrayer), later Lord Guardian of Daros, in Mintrass.

1700

• Birth of the soldier Haran Gerra in Mintrass.
