White Isles

Made up of three islands, with the largest being known as Myalba, these islands are very economically significant. These islands have been inhabited for centuries and due to their central location along the sea routes down the coast of Eteros and Rallia they have seen great success. This is also due to the large mineral deposits on the islands. They are named for their white sand beaches, the white marble deposits on the island, but mainly for the vast salt deposits. All three of the islands are inhabited in some capacity, but the population of Myalba greatly exceed the two smaller islands, Gyda and Clysa. Myalba is home to one of the great cities of the realm, White Hall and the Grand Harbor.

Geography

The Islands consist mainly of low sandy beaches, although these sometime rise into small cliffs, home to Myalban berries. Towards the center of the islands hills begin to form under which lay vast salt deposits. Elevation is not significant however, but can provide great views of the surrounding ocean.

Fauna & Flora

Flora This islands are home to the Myalban Berry, a medium-sized red berry that is sweet and slightly salty, grown in the arid climate suplemented by the ocean breeze. The salty soil also contribute to this taste. Otherwise the islands are dominated by low lying scrub with a few scattered cypress trees similar to those found on The Guardians to the north, although not quite as spectacular.
Fauna The islands are not home to many species of large animal due to the lack of large food resources. Salt Drakes, small lizards that feed on the berries as well as small insects inhabit the islands. They are accompanied by a small bird called the Tan Nutswift. These small birds feed on the nuts of the local cypress as well as the Myalban berries, making them somewhat of a pest for local cultivators.

Natural Resources

The main resource of the island is it's salt deposits. Salt is shipped from these islands across the realm, a process started by the Forefathers. The Grand Harbor at White Hall exists solely for this purpose. Myalban berries are also shipped to the mainland. Small viens of Silvere Glass also exist on the island, which made these islands even more important to the Forefathers.
