Storm Stone
The island that this city sits was uninhabited for most of history. Sailors had known of its existence for a long time, but no real effort had been made to build a permanent settlement on the rough island. It was not until a group of merchants in the Aura Fall era were cast onto the island by a particularly strong storm. They constructed a makeshift camp using the wreckage from their ships on the southern side of the island where they had found a small natural inlet in the otherwise uninterrupted cliffs. By the time ships spotted the fires from their camp, they sailors had built make-shift houses and even constructed a small dock for the day their saviors would arrive. In the end most of them ended up staying and using some of their shipment to purchase goods from the travelers. A couple of men from this party went on to Thalaston with these sailors to send back supplies. The officials in Thalaston then decided to send settlers and supplies back with these men, and the city of Storm Stone was born. Merchants from Tentria heard of this and soon settlers from Eteros came as well. This created a very unique place in the world of Gloratium where these two peoples developed side by side, with multiple places of worship appearing around the island. Eventually the Forefathers made their way here and found this island to be of great importance to the northern sea routes. They built a large harbor here towards the end of their reign. Storms often batter this region of the Silver Sea, making Storm Stone a welcome sight among the endless blue. People from across the world will often stoop here to trade stories and crazy tales. The island is also home to a small population of Sea Hawks who roost here in the winter months.
Geography
A rough island dominate by cliffs on almost all sides, it is fairly inhospitable. A small natural harbor exists on the southern end of the island. This is intact part of the same seismic fault that would later go on to destroy much of the continent of Auriti. The top of the Island is devoid of much feature having been eroded over centuries.
Fauna & Flora
Flora
Not many plants can survive the brutal storms that occasionally hit the island. Some crops can be raised in the calm season, but only enough to feed the inhabitants. Small grasses cover the island along with small shrubs, but most trees would not survive.
Fauna
The island is also home to a small population of Sea Hawks who roost here in the winter months. Otherwise the waters around the island can be fished for Todean Blade and other commercial fishes.
Natural Resources
Storm stone is mostly considered a fishing settlement because of the rich fishing grounds off its coasts. Some have said a vein of Silvere Glass exists somewhere on the island, but after much searching no one has ever confirmed this.
