Splitsilver Isles

This group of isles sit in the middle of the Silver Ocean. They are named by the current peoples of the realm because of the fact that silver was so closely associated with the culture and banners of their former masters, but were broken apart by a massive seismic event, The Cataclysm. They're old name still floats around among some book and scholars of the realm, Auriti. This roughly translates to: "Home of the Aura". Once the Forefather empire fell other kingdoms decided this name eroded their authority over this power and instead this name became generally adopted by the languages of the realm. Today they are temperate to tropical islands which once housed much more fertile soils, but today the lack of flat land makes it difficult to farm effectively. Some pirating is based out of these islands as they take advantage of the channels flowing through the islands which lead to small coves and inlets. Ruins of the once great Forefather home continent dot these islands and are often studied. However, much of these islands are hard to reach and are shrouded in mystery as the native islands, once Forefather peoples, have become highly protective of their relics.

Geography

The islands are made up of the remnants of a mountain range that would have once dominated the surrounding continent. This means their slopes are often perilous and terrain rough. Today they are more weathered by ocean storms, but are still difficult to traverse. Small inlets dot the channels that "split" the isles.

Fauna & Flora

No animal or plant of real commercial value has been found on this islands. Although this is believed to be because the peoples of the islands make it difficult for professors from the Academies to attempt and explore the regions. Forefather books tell of herbs and plants native to their homelands that have yet to be found. It was also said species of Harleq that were smaller than their Eterosian cousins, once roamed the planes of this continent, but went extinct during the Cataclysm. A species of Abraq is said to populate some parts of the islands.

Natural Resources

Silvere Glass deposits were once rich on this continent, but any source is now either submerged beneath the ocean or hidden deep within the mountains. Some tropical fruits have been transplanted around the city of Midmara, but no great resource deposits exist here.
