Vuulydon - Defunct

In the Fourth Era, the nation of Vuulydon emerged under the leadership of the Oakhand family, a lineage of powerful magic practitioners. Adonis Oakhand, an influential figure, established rules and conducted magical research, attracting numerous students to his mountain colony. Recognizing the potential dangers of unchecked magical abilities within his bloodline, Adonis implemented a law that restricted Oakhand descendants to having only one child. This measure aimed to prevent the uncontrolled chaos that arose in subsequent generations.
In 4E, 96, Drest Oakhand ascended to power and proclaimed the loyal followers of the Oakhand family as the Nation of Vuulydon. As a symbol of their sovereignty, Drest assumed the title of Mageking, aligning with the other major houses that had declared themselves kings or queens.
Under the banner of Vuulydon, the nation thrived for two centuries, fostering its own unique culture and advancing in magical prowess. However, in 4E, 296, a significant turning point occurred. Mageking Aefic Oakhand, inaugurated on the 200th year of Vuulydon's existence, declared himself the Jaggedking and embarked on a mission to conquer the remaining territories of the Firefang Jags.
During this period, the Vuul, as they became known, grew increasingly reclusive and developed a zealous reverence for their magical heritage. Aefic's ambition led to the dissolution of Vuulydon and the rise of the Vul'Adnian Magistrate. The newly formed empire sought to expand its borders and assert the superiority of the Vuul, aiming to rule over the commoners and demonstrate their inherent right to dominion.
Thus, the history of Vuulydon is marked by the establishment of a prosperous nation under the Oakhand family, its growth and cultural development, and ultimately the transformation into the Vul'Adnian Magistrate, a powerful empire driven by a fervent belief in their magical bloodline and the quest for supremacy.
Ruler must marry a commoner from the mountain kingdom. They can only have one child. He determined that the magical ability of each subsequent child born to someone of his bloodline grew too chaotic to control and would cause destruction. Adonis' second child became unstable and exploded in raw magical essence when she was around 26. This destruction killed many people and Adonis made it law that any Oakhand may only have one child.

459 BHM Drest Oakhand is inaugurated and declares the faction who have remained loyal to the Oakhand Family as the Nation of Vuulydon and he changed his title from Magelord to Mageking to match the other 5 major houses who declared themselves as Kings or Queens.
  Vuulydon was a nation from 4E, 96 until 4E, 296.
Mageking Aefic Oakhand was inaugurated on the 200th year of the Vuulydon nation. He declared himself the Jaggedking and sought to take over the rest of the Firefang Jags. Overtime the Vuul had become more recluse while also becoming fanatical about their magic bloodline. Aefic declared the end of Vuulydon and the beginning of the Vul'Adnian Magistrate, an empire that would bring others into it's borders to show them that his people were meant to rule over the commoners.
Throughout the reign of Vuulydon's Magekings, the city of Fogholt stood as the majestic capital, its tiers nestled within the towering mountains. The line of Magekings, marked by their magical bloodline, shaped the destiny of the nation and its people. Here are the summaries of their rules and a major event from Vuulydon's history:
Drest Oakhand (4E, 96 - 133): Drest Oakhand, the inaugural Mageking, laid the foundations of Vuulydon and declared the loyalty of his followers as the nation. Under his rule, the importance of the Oakhand bloodline and their connection to magic was established.
Gales Oakhand (4E, 133 - 155): During Gales' reign, Vuulydon faced challenges from internal sickness and external threats. Despite his efforts, the nation grappled with the impact of disease on its populace.
Terrin Oakhand (4E, 155 - 181): Terrin Oakhand brought stability to Vuulydon and focused on strengthening the nation's defenses against mountain raiders who sought to exploit the city's strategic location.
Taysom Oakhand (4E, 181 - 239): Taysom's reign was defined by his unwavering determination to protect Fogholt from incursions. He personally led campaigns against raiders, ensuring the safety and prosperity of the city.
Artor Oakhand (4E, 239 - 271): Artor's reign was cut short when he fell victim to an attempted coup by his advisor Verak Veilfire, resulting in his cremation over a lava vein within the mountain. His demise marked a somber moment in Vuulydon's history.
Odalric Oakhand (4E, 271 - 284): Odalric's rule took a tragic turn when his own guard turned against him, driven by concerns for the safety of the entire nation. His demise highlighted the complexities and challenges of ruling a kingdom.
Adonis Oakhand (4E, 284): An extraordinary event unfolded as the aging and venerable Adonis Oakhand took over the leadership once more after the untimely death of Odalric. With his advanced age and wisdom, Adonis sought to guide and protect Vuulydon until his descendant reached the age of twelve.
Aefic Oakhand (4E, 296): Aefic Oakhand assumed power at the tender age of twelve, following his father's demise on the very day of his birth. Radically influenced by his trusted generals, Aefic became fervent in his belief in the power of the Oakhand bloodline. This shift in ideology set the stage for a major event that would shape the future of Vuulydon. General Vasilis Drevkov was the key factor in Aefic's turn to expansionist leader.
  The Veilfire Rebellion 4E, 271
During Artor Oakhand's reign, a group of magically inclined individuals loyal to Verak Veilfire emerged as a force challenging the traditional rule of the Magekings. Fueled by grievances against the increasingly radicalized leadership and seeking greater freedom for magical practitioners, the Veilfire Rebellion aimed to bring about significant changes in the governance and culture of Vuulydon. The conflict between the Mageking's forces and the rebels escalated, leading to a climactic battle that tested the very foundations of Vuulydon's authority and its oppressive magical hierarchy. Artor and Verak died in the final skirmish.
