Mageking Odalric Oakhand
Mageking Odalric Oakhand
Odalric, the son of Artor Oakhand, was a man who sought to carve his own path in the shadow of his forebears' rigid traditions. Becoming Mageking at 45, he was a tall, brooding figure known for his defiance and resilience. His reign was marked by a significant diplomatic achievement—he opened a critical trade route with Cindralkin Rhys Solaris of the Pheori Aelves, fostering prosperity in Vuulydon through this alliance. However, his legacy was ultimately defined by tragedy.
Odalric’s fatal decision was to protect his daughter Adney, born with the cursed blood, a mark of dangerous magic. Refusing to submit to the ancient laws that demanded her removal, he defied the Oathblades, sworn ogre guardians of the Spyre mountain and the enforcers of those laws. His battle against them, both literal and symbolic, became his undoing. Slain at the age of 57 alongside his loyal followers, Odalric’s refusal to sacrifice his daughter set off a chain of events that would deeply impact the Oakhand bloodline for generations. His death left his young son, Aefic, to inherit the throne and the monumental weight of Vuulydon’s future.
