Rhiannon Amare

Rhiannon Amare was a Tiefling Bard. She is a player character in the Smugglers of magiccampaign.

Appearance

Rhiannon was a pink tiefling of short stature. She had long strawberry blonde hair, like her mother, and violet colored eyes. Typically she would wear frilly dresses as she enjoyed girly things. On her head she had two ivory horns that went into an X shape over her head. Rhiannon had a pretty face, being called cute by people such as Rodrigo. On her pointed ears she would wear earrings, presumably ones that she has gotten from before her move to Bersail. Due to her father's heritage she was a bit more resilient.

Personality

One thing that you could say about her was that she was very excitable about almost anything. She'd try to see something positive in everything. Rhiannon had a love for the arts, trying almost every medium but her love for music and song has been the strongest. Unlike most of her family, Rhiannon is kind of an airhead, simply not paying attention to her surroundings or getting distracted.

Hope

Hope is Rhiannon's fiancé, they met as children and quickly became childhood friends. Ever since she was a child, Rhiannon would claim that one day she would marry him. She thinks of him as very intelligent and appreciates his ability to cook, for she herself is a disaster in the kitchen. Hope playfully teases her, like picking her up and swaying her around or calling her his scuffed little princess. Hope, in interest of Rhiannon's work, has tried to write a song for her, which he uncreatively named after her. The two of them both have the desire to have a child together and were actively preparing for a baby before they were forced to move because of the rise in Holy Cleansings around Scarbell.

History

Rhiannon is the daughter of Astraea, an opera singer from Scarbell, and Vilath, a Goliath who got banished by his clan for refusing to kill animals just for the fun of it. She grew up quite close to her family, especially her grandparents who doted on her. Because of the whole fire keeper business from grandma, she went to Lytrin for the high sun festival, where she met Hope, who she would befriend and end up in a romantic relationship with. Rhiannon, at 23, has become a bard who sings songs anywhere for coin or not. Jade, her friend, she met when she was twelve in the academy of grandpa. Flynran is a Halfling bard she would sing duets with, seeing it as a very small friendship based on their love for song. Fièn mistsong, she met them with the latter trying to get information from the former. Due to how oblivious and trusting Rhiannon was, Fièn decided to stick around to see if it was real or an act. They eventually became friends.

Rhiannon heard from Hope that a Tiefling girl in their neighborhood was targeted by the Smugglers of Magic for a Parafonos Blood procedure after she was unable to pay her dues. Hope expressed his concern about it, and that it could just as easily have been Rhiannon that was targeted. She decides right after that she was going to do something about it. She called out to some acquaintances in the city of Bersail to gather at The Stranded Sailor. After a couple days she met up with Jade, Flynran, Fièn, Matsrur and Irial. When they were all present, she managed to convince Rodrigo, the owner of the pub, to give them all a drink. Afterwards she wanted to discuss the issue, but when two Holy Cleansings witch hunters entered the building, they decided to move to a backroom.
The party felt her concern, but expressed doing anything about it will be difficult. Eventually they decided to change the organization from the inside. How they wanted to do that was also uncertain, as Rhiannon had not thought any of the plan through. Eventually they decided that Matsrur and Irial would get the rest of the party hired and work from there.
Rhiannon, together with Jade and Matsrur went to meet with Efren, a human who had contracted Matsrur before, who was associated with The Stolen. Efren decided after some questions that the Tiefling would be best cut out to make connections in the city and find spaced for refugees to stay at. The next day, the party met with Icary and Orlon from the Smugglers of Magic, which turned out to be a smaller Organization managed by The Stolen. Orlon explained to the party what they would have to do for them that evening. Rhiannon was tasked, together with Flynran, to connect with the people being smuggled into the city, and hide them throughout the city and markets. Whilst they were visiting, the party found a person that had died through a failed Parafonos Blood injection. Rhiannon felt sympathy for the half-elven man, but also for Jade, who was tasked to perform the injections in those who did not pay correctly.
Rhiannon slowly drifted apart further from the rest of the group she brought in, due to the rest of the party going along with the practices of human trafficking.
Eventually Rhiannon decided to get out and leave. Together with Hope they left Bersail and went to Hope his hometown instead. Rhiannon took the Necra Itlin with her to get it out of the hands of anybody who might abuse it. Rhiannon happened about halfway during the Smugglers of magic campaign.
After the campaign, Rhiannon and Hope went to Lytrin and chose to live there. Damien, the son of Rhiannon was born here. She also passes the Necra Itlin off to Lyxsas to place away somewhere protected.

Bardic magic
Rhiannon her passion for song and music grants her magic. The types of powers rhiannon gets from this are things like charming, thought detecting and healing. Unknowingly to Rhiannon, her magic allows her to copy pieces of magic from those she cares about. Through this, Rhiannon has fireball, copied from her grandfather Lyxsas.
Singing ability
Rhiannon is a skilled artist with her voice. She is good to the point she can easily do it profesionally. Next to this Rhiannon is also a skilled orator, knowing what to say when to convince people.

• The idea for Rhiannon was created even early on in the Relic Hunters campaign. She and her grandmother, Eris, share the same player.
• The name Rhiannon and the song that Hope wrote for her, is a reference to Fleetwood Mac's Rhiannon.
