Holy Cleansings

The Holy Cleansings was an order sent out by the Angel's faith, mandated by the arch-priest themselves. It was an effort to fight against other religions, dispose of unholy magics and claim more Human territory.
It is the main conflict of the Campaigns of Bersail -> Smugglers of Magic and Heretics Resistance.
The cleansings witchhunters often had captains and the like be specifically selected warriors and commanders while the rank and file witchhunters of the cleansings were the common man joining up and being given equipment and minimal training. The cleansings went on for about x years. They started around the year 643 and spread across the lands originating on the Hamaitan coast. The cleansings ended after the collosal failure of the cleansings in Bersail causing chain reaction resulting in the deposing of the Angel's faith arc-priest. The newly appointed priest officialy ended the cleansings in the year 656

Historical Significance

• circa 643 AC - The Angel's faith orders the holy cleansings to start, starting at Hamaitan and spreading across the coast.
• circa 645 AC - The cleansings witchhunters reach Aedinia on the tip of the Stormrend peninsula. Over the coming years they would rapidly spread across most of the continent
• circa 646 AC - The cleansings reach Scarbell. Prompting its targets to flee and seek refuge, hide, or fight it.
• circa 648 AC - The cleansings also try to reach into firmly pagan lands on the northern stretch, making minor gains before being repelled back with force.
• circa 654 AC - The cleansings clash around Bersail, which was one of the last great safe-havens against it. Though it had been ignored up to this point despite being firm within possible territory
• 12 Wulf 655 - The witchhunter groups in Bersail are uterly defeated on all grounds. They attempted to summon a holy angel to the city which failed while also both their captains in the city were defeated. This would soon after spark other failures of the orginization in other cities.
• circa 656 AC - The arch-priest is deposed and the new appointed one, mandates the end of the holy cleansings, resulting in most stopping and only some individual fanatic groups continuing
