Rodrigo was an Adw musar pirate associated with The Leviathan Fleet. He lived in Bersail where he owned a pub named The Stranded Sailor, which was a front for the Leviathan Fleet to keep tabs on the criminal city and its nearby waters. He was also the captain of his own ship in the fleet, The Feathered Leviathan. During the events of the
Smugglers of magic
campaign, he lived together with Jade.
Appearance
Rodrigo is a relatively tall person at 187 centimeters. He has dark skin and golden freckles typical of an Adw Musar, together with the red hair which he puts into a ponytail. He has light green eyes and a cocky yet friendly smile. On his left ear he would often show off an earring which has a bright feather dangling from it. He is physically well built, and likes to wear clothes that expose his muscles a bit.Personality
Rodrigo can have somewhat of an ego, which he developed with his successes in his work as a pirate captain. Besides that, he is often a neutral party to other people's problems, and he takes this mentality with him whenever he runs the pub as you are to forget prior anger or rivalries to others when you enter. He does not tolerate fights in his establishment. His own friends will tell you that he is a generally good person, and that he is willing to help even in dire situations.Relationships
The Leviathan Fleet
Rodrigo had been working for the fleet for the majority of his life. He enjoys the work he does for them and is generally happy to be part of it all. He describes the fleet as "The largest gathering of the world's greatest misfits, and I wouldn't have it any other way." Rodrigo has a lot of respect for the higher ups in the organization, and at one point in time worked on the flagship, the Brass Leviathan Ship. There he worked directly for the captain of that ship, the commodore of the entire fleet.Jade
Rodrigo and Jade are good friends they initially first met when the pirates Rodrigo was a part of spend some time hiding in Jade her hometown. Rodrigo was the one who convinced Jade to leave her hometown and go out into the world.History
Prior to the Campaign
Rodrigo was a member of The Leviathan Fleet for an unknown amount of time before the start of the campaign. He had served on its flagship, the Brass Leviathan before gaining the opportunity to captain his own. He dubbed this ship the Feathered Leviathan because of its unique name compared to other ships in the fleet. He also chose it as he is fond of tropical birds like parrots. At some point of his pirating career, he had been stationed around the goblinoid settlement of Rhovalach, where he acted as an envoy to the hobgoblin leaders and participated in naval raids. In 638 AC, he was assigned to head to the Stormrend peninsula to be a stakeholder in the criminal underworld of Bersail for the Leviathan Fleet. Whilst he was making preparations to leave Rhovalach, he witnessed the banishment of Jade, a daughter of the Hobgoblin chieftain Rhimbal. Intrigued by her, he introduced himself and offered her to sail to Bersail together, from where he suggested her to go to Scarbell to study magic. In 646 AC, roughly eight years after settling in Bersail and owning The Stranded Sailor, his pub there in the name of the Leviathans, he was contacted again by Jade who was asking for shelter. The holy cleansings had taken hold in Scarbell and she could no longer hide. He agreed to smuggle her into the city of Bersail as a refugee and invited her to live in his house. She from then on lived with him for no additional costs, granted that she found herself a job and was able to cover some of their expenses.Smugglers of Magic
After hearing from Rhiannon that she was looking for Jade, Rodrigo went out in the rain at night to look how she was doing at the graveyard. Later on, he allowed Rhiannon to gather the people she needed in the Stranded Sailor. Rhiannon managed to convince Rodrigo to give everyone a drink on the house, except for Jade, who always gets her drinks on the house. After a couple of Holy Cleansings with hunters came into the pub, he urged them to move their conversation to the backroom they had. At one point he opened the door with a concerned look on his face, as the hunters wanted to see what was going on in there. With three magic users in the room he was afraid of what was being discussed. Luckily thanks to Fièn, they made it look like they were playing a card game instead.Additional Information

- Rodrigo shares his family ties with Beatriz Despadida. Whilst Beatriz never had children, she unknowingly had a half-sibling, whom Rodrigo descends from. He has no idea about his family ties to the Leviathan's first captain.
- Rodrigo shares his fondness of birds with fellow Leviathan Fleet member Iandal. The former prefers tropical birds like parrots whilst the latter enjoys spotting birds of prey.
