Indeljar is the northernmost nation on the continent of Eveynjar. With the freezing Carassean Sea to the North and the Dividing Ocean to the West, Indeljar is both cold and moist, leading to its large southern conifer forests and northern tundras. Although technically a conglomerate of affiliated provinces and self-governing nations, all of these regions come together during an event known as the Moot to decide on political issues as well as elect a High King if one is not present. The regions and other things pertaining to Indeljar can be read below.

Geography

These are the following provinces found within Indeljar:    
  1. Indel Plain: The Indel Plains are the central focus of Indeljar, and contain sprawling fields free of ice and snow during warmer months. Its fertile fields are full of activity, from farmers and herders, to wild herds of Mammoth, Wooly Antelope, and Wooly Rhinos. Its capital is the city of Jorundarja, which is also the Capital City of Indeljar. The Indel Plain is bordered by the Bay of Hope to the North, the Lake of Arctus to the south, the Rothedomic Boreal to the west and the Harmere Tundra to the east.
  2. Eplepa Forest: Eplela is the southernmost province of Indeljar, as well as the longest. Mostly covered in a thick coniferous forest, it does possess other land features including rolling hills, steep mountains, and a coastal plain. It spreads along the Heightless Divide to its south and east, the Lake of Arctus to the north, the Dividing Ocean to the west, and ends at the city of Grimsdalr in the east. The capital of this province is Falkenfell. 
  3. Rothedomic Boreal: The Rothedomic Boreal is a Dense Boreal Forest that lies to the west of the Indel Plain and East of the Savaboia Mountains. Though geographically small, it is home to most of Indeljar’s industry. The capital of this province is Icewharf.
  4. Savaboia Plain: The Savaboia Plain are an uninhabited region of Indeljar filled with the ruins of a civilization that fell before the time of the Diiv’anne. Who made these ruins and why they left is still to be determined by daring adventurers. Due to it being uninhabited, it has no capital. It borders the Asylum Isles to the north, the Rothedomic Boreal to the east, the Dividing Ocean to the west, and the Eplepa Forest to the south.
  5. Harmere Tundra: The Harmere Tundra is the largest and emptiest region of Indeljar, save the Savaboia plain only. It extends from the mouth of the Lower Indel River to the west, the Passabalt Peaks to the north, the Heightless Divide to the south, and the city of Ambergate to the east. Its capital is the city of Basinshire, which also houses the most prestigious Mage's College in the entire nation of Indeljar.
  6. Bia'dremuth Taiga/Dvarheim: The Bia’dremuth Taiga or simply Dvarheim is an independent province within Indeljar. At its heart lies Naalrym’s Forge, a city that teaches the best Blacksmiths in all of Evenea. It is bordered by the Harmere Tundra to the west, the Thicket of Yalathannil to the south and east, and the Gulf of Ganalighe to the North. Its capital is the City of Dawnhold and is ruled the by Ter'minathrin Clan.
  7. Asylum Isles: The Asylum Isles are a collection of continental islands that shelter the Bay of Hope from the Restless Seas of the Dividing Ocean. It houses the first settlements of the mortal races in Eveynjar. Its capital is the city of Dragonport, ruled by the Ice Dragon Thjorstolf Kjorgrimmson. 
  8. Durwin Isles: The northernmost independent province in both Indeljar and Eveynjar, the Durwin Isels are as cold as they are inhospitable. Though few live here, those that do make most of their living by hunting whales and seals. The provincial capital of the region is the city of Ebonpeak, ruled by the Agloolik Duke Gheimridh.

Localized Phenomena

Indeljar is a land of ice and snow, and as such is not a place to tread light without the proper equipment. Those who do not often find themselves dead in the snow.

Climate

Overall, the climate of Indeljar is cold and dry, with different regions experiencing varying amounts of precipitation and change in temperature. For the most part, snow doesn't begin to melt til 3/4 of the way through the month of New Life, and begins to snow again around the month of High Harvest.

Fauna & Flora

The Flora and Fauna of Indeljar are reminiscent of the Northern Hemisphere of Earth, as well as mythical creatures and elemental-attuned variants  of those flora and fauna. The creature include prehistoric ones like Mammoths, Sabre-tooth Cats, Dire Wolves (actually a jackal relative), Wooly Rhinos; and mythical creatures like Kelpies, Tizheruk, Rocs, Kraken, and draconic creatures such as Knuckers, Wyverns, and Lindwyrms. The Flora include leeks, snowberries, juniper, cloudberries, ice grape.

Natural Resources

Indeljar is the only place where Enchanted Ice can be found, with the exception of certain regions of the Nethyr. They also produce many metals such as ebonite, cold-resistant crops, stone, and timber.

History

Soon after the fall of Valoreum, an exodus from the continent of Valoreum was spearheaded by many of the Dragon Clans. A man by the name of Indel the Explorer lead the northern folk in pursuit of a new homeland, landing in what is now the Asylum Isles.
