the smallest of the semi autonomous provinces in the The twin sultanates of Castilian and Abria. it is on there land were the most violent battles of the twin sultanates civil war have been fought.

lostians have a great sea fairing nature. many lostian lords serve as lord high admiral and lord of the sea.
Assets
lostia has the largest fortification in they twin sultanates. this is because relations between the duke of losotia and the prince of the sultanate of Castilian have never liked each other despising lands in the corridor of the selca river region so the the lostia line was created. a series of forts and trench lines constructed 157YBCW.
lostia has the largest merchant navy in the empire .
the fortress of saint Eustasius is one of the largest coast fortresses in the empire.
History
early history the land of a thousand cities -the first lostian nations were founded before The war of Men and the 'Old' races around 7000YBCW by merchants of one of the five kingdoms in the southern continent. the founding story is based on the exoduses of the 12 archons when 8 lostian archons or kings sailed north in search of new homes. it started off as series of small city states with populations not exceeding 10000. soon these small cities became kingdoms. the first of these which grew to any prominence was akratari whose first recorded kings outside of legend was the Eustasius know as eustasius elf friend. he was close to the surrounding sea elf kings and he himself at the age of 26 married the maiden daughter of one the sea elf kings. this was not an uncommon occurrence in lostian society and many Haelf's where born into both common and noble families (to date this mean that lostia has the second highest elven and haelf descended population in the know world behind the regency of magara) Eustasius was said to have sent to war with many of the surrounding lostian city kings. he conquered the dekelian islands to the south seizing there cities and resources. for this he was anointed a saint. he was known for his pious nature and his wife queen Raenisa while never converting to her husband 'barbarian religious' as she was heard to say supported him at every turn and often was able to get her father and brothers to help him in war time. Eustasius is only one example of the kings of the time.
the sea elf kings liked there new neighbors who brought trade a wealth to his kingdom. the lostians became scollors of law and art off of the sea elves and the cities soon united with the help of the elves. there commerce fleets soon grew in size and with the help of the sea elves they made a strong and powerful navy. the sea elf kings saw this growing power as a danger and a monster of there own creation.
it had grown powerful off of trade with the northern confederation in the southern continent.
the rise of an empire- around 6840YBCW, an intresting figure come into the stage in lostia. in the city of chortia, the Haelf prince and admiral Phobos took control of the city after aresting its corrupt leaders and marrying the daughter of the former exarch theodora and cronwed himself king Phobos the first of Chortia. over the next three decades the 30 year old prince expanded north east and west, a coaltion of cities known as the league of kings raised a great host, inculding slavs, lostians and several kings of sea elves brought the king to battle at shimmerfield after which he cronwed himself Archon of Archons. in this last great vicotry Phobos confermed lands ant titles upon lords but then acespted may of the sea elf and high elf lords as his vassels. it is in the elvish records that this empire is refered to as thei’darcothmyr ker archonian. when phobos died his son Isaurian became the second archon of archons but after he married the daughter of king korthan (an elven sea elf king) he took a grander title Basileus the lostian word for Emperor becoming the first emepror of the Archonian Empire .
the end of the empire and the war of states
the civil war- for the next 100 year the macadon dynasty ruled until two branches of the family began a civil war. the azroves held most of the heart land while the other candidate branch the georgens held the lands conquered by Constantine the great. basil georgen declared himself basli 1st and had paid for support from the northern confederacy in the southern continent while the azroves had support from the elven kingdoms. the civil war was a bloody affair and was the first human civil war fought on the northern continent. however the old races had a massive role to play and benefited from the war. Constantine 4th azroves was named king in attelo. the war lasted for 5 years and resulted in both sides losing massive amounts of men and money. but the azroves were declared kings after the final battle. however the kingdom was greatly diminished.
the arrival of The sultan and the death of a kingdom- by the time The sultan arrived in the continent the ruling king was hadrus azroves 1st. he was a feace warrior and skill tactician who was the son of a union of an elf princess and his father basil 3rd. but the sultan offered him something he couldn't refuse. the sultans daughter was given to the young lord as a wife and hadrus and his nations entered the sultans new empire.but he was no longer a king but was made a duke under the sultan the throne which was made by Constantine the great was turned into the throne of the sultan. the new duchy also lost alot of land to both the sultan and elven kingdoms. there was no land bordered between the sultanate of Abria but that wasn't needed as lostia was a naval power and could travel via the sea.
time in the early sultanatesreignMohammadcontinentThe war of Men and the 'Old' races the duchy had effective control over the southern seas holding a larger fleet than that of sultan caboos. this almost brought them into conflict with the sultan and after diplomatic pressure and a massive bribe duck hardus 4th shrank his fleet. and when the war was one the empire was linked with the duchy via the land boarder. over land trade began and the duchys trading commodities like there fish was traded freely. these established a good relationship with the Frankish court as the frankish court loved the fish that the lostain gave them.
the house of asir-when the the first Asiri war began duke george 2nd refused to hand over his duchy to Asir 1st and decided to fight while his family escaped. however he lacked supported from his local lords who followed the laws of lostian succession to the letter declaring for asir. the war resulted in asir defeat and despite remaining loyal to the end not one lostian lord was evacuated by asir but 3000 women were stolen by the retreating army of black souls in order to make good wives.
the Justinianit era 515YBCW-405YBCW the hight of lostian power-when duke Justinian 7th (536YBCW-472YBCW) took the ducal throne of lostia at the age of 21 he had big plans. he wanted his duchy to have great reach and more influence in imperial affairs. he began quietly with this plan. first he encouraged his people to emigrate to other parts of the empire. alot of noble families moved other places. the eterias moved to setercha along with 4 other lostian families. many other lostians moved to The governance and married into different families. this was a move to expand his power into other parts of the empire. in 480YBCW orhan 2nd lost Duchy of farasna and he was losing control needed a strong leader on his side and Justinian stepped forward and he was made lord high admiral and lord of the sea. he spent the rest of his life in this office and he died at the age of 64 and his own son became Justinian 8th. Justinian 8th (497YBCW-460YBCW)was 25 when he became duke. he had proved himself a great sailor and had earned himself the title the kraken after send a pirate fleet into retreat. however seeing what was happing and the swelling wealth of lostia meany lords pressured the sultan to fight against the lostians and cut them down to size. this spilled over on the eve of justianas 26th birthday 471YBCW,into a war which saw lostia win and dictating terms to the sultan. the prince of setercha was sent into exile with his family in the recanik pashaliks and eteria family where made princes of setercha. this expanded lostian influence and directly annexed the vineyard isles into lostian territory. however despite his power he used it irresponsible and spent his time with lost of women and caught a STD and died at the age of 37 and he was succeeded by his 16 year old son Justinian 9th (476YBCW-425YBCW) in 460YBCW. by this time the lostian army had began modernizing as part of the grand military revolution and was know a national force along the lines of the sultans army. the 16 year old duke was however just as ruthless as his father and chose his own wife. it was the 17 year old princess of setercha Celistina Eteria. war came to lostia 3 years later in 457YBCW. this time the 53 year old orhan had his son the 27 year old Mohammad (later Mohammad 12th). this didn't help and Justinian was able to defeat first the sultan. then his sons and then his father in laws army all in a matter of 2 years securing his power. he however would only rule until his twin sons the killed him in his sleep along with there mother when they where 16 and Justinian 10th (441YBCW-405YBCW) became duke, but not before he killed his twin Hadrian. Justinian 10th was a tyrant and ruled his lands with an iron first. he would marry his 15 year cousin Helen eteria when he was 17. that next year Mohammad 12th became sultan and his only plan was to remove him and his allies from power. and after 3 years of fighting Justinian was dead and all his allies had been removed from power. this also started a mass exodus of lostian back to there homeland. but some minor nobles and small communities stayed.
the flagship S.I.N profit was constructed at atello and the second fleets home base is atello. lostian troops fought during the great crisis. the Losotian marine corp fought several battle during the war an prove that they were a capable fighting force. however there forces were small and were only just able to help plunge the gap. after the war the duchy didn't have to rebuild as it wasn't invaded despite having a land boarder with the verainberg empire. however they had to put massive amounts of resources in t help rebuild which in turn almost destroyed the duchy economy and they had to stop.
Demography and Population
most of the population are located around atello which is the capital of the duchy. the rest of the population are spread across the small nation. the coastal towns have decent sized populations and most of these are well developed due to the fact the fishing trade is so rich. the population it almost entirely lostian

the duchy of lostia commands the road links between the sultanate of Castilian and abria with only a small amount of abrian controlled territory west of the duchys boarder. the georgen river is on the eastern boarder. the coast is temprate and warm with white beaches.
Military
the Losotian marine corp acts as the nations professional armed force. in time of war irregular bands are raised from the population. like setercha, lostian must send troops to fight in the twin sultanate imperial army.
during the time of the kingdom the lostian army was like most other army's of the time including old races was raised from the local lords lands. they had plate Armour made of steal in the form of a torso. there helmets were gold with white horse hair polloms. by the time of Constantine the great the plooms were gotten rid of and the royal seal was put on the right hand side of the helmet.
the first knights were seen king nikolais rebellion where Constantine palogis and 100 lostain knights were part of the second army to put down the rebellion

throughout the year the ships yards of atello have produced the newest and most up to date ships in the world out classing ever other nations ships.

the religion inst as important in the duchy. the people hear are not very superstitious but the state still hold the profits law as it religion. they however have saints like the principality of setercha naming several forts and settlements after them including the fortress of saint eustasue named after saint eustause who was the younger brother of Constantine the great.

the only real industry in lostia is fishing and ship building.every port build entire merchant ships or warships. the

many lostians are illiterate have have little care for the ruling of the state. the upper classes however are educated else where in the empire going to either the principality of setercha or to other parts of the twin sultanates.

the coastal ares of the duchy are very well developed a railway line linking atello with Mohammabad. but the rest of the nation is only connected to the rest of the empire with dirt tracks.
