601YBCW sultan Abdul 2nd was given a son asir. however this son was a bastard born to a herigz countess. he would have this son legitimized along the next three of his bastard children. however when his wife had a son the sultan wouldn't declare either his eldest bastard son or his true born son heir. so when the sultan died at the age of 52 the sultan empress order asir and his brother and sister killed so that her son ibriham 5th would be sultan. asir escape with the help of loyalist and he escaped to san antiona
The Conflict
Prelude
the bad sultan-sultan Abdul 2nd born 643YBCW was know for his whoring behavior. and he had a child with one of his lovers a herigz countess before he had one with his wife. she asked from the child to be named after her father Asir. on his birth the less than bright sultan had this son legitimized. he would have his next three bastard children legitimized a daughter elia and another son who was named abdul but he would die at the age of three. 591YBCW the sultan would have a true born son who he named ibriham. his wife empress pleaded that this son be named heir but Abdul didn't name either of his sons. so when Abdul died the empress order the capture of asir. loyal lords however took the 10 year old and his 3 year old sister first to attelo and onto the republic of san antonia the empress regent out raged that they had got away she ordered the lords involved killed and a bounty placed on the head of the pretender.

and proclaimed sultan emperor asir 1st of the twin sultanates . the prince still only 14 years old proclaimed that he would form his own house and named it after himself and the house of Asiri was formed.
gathering of an army and the invasion of the salt isles-the boy emperor had no support in his homeland and had little where he was. what he did have was money and he used this to conscript mercanaries. when he was 15 he had an army of 1000 men and he named them his black guardian. but they preferred a different name the black soul army. these men wore all black armour and use massive spears and heavy round shields. he used money to buy ships and with the help of son san antiona official look to make his mark. he look east to the salt isle. these island not to far from omonga were rich with salt and calk and these could be sold. they also could act as a staging area. his small fleet left for the salt isle and in 3 months the isle were under his control. there small population saw the coming of the emperor as sign and proclaimed him the son of the gods and said he was the emperor of emperors.
the emperor order a new suit of Armour be built. he wanted it fashioned from black steel and the helm was to have a dragon crest. over the next year he gathered more strength. and his army swelled to 30000 men. he also spoke to several lords who were willing to pledge there swords and men to him. and when the emperor was 18 he set sail for his half brothers empire. his 11 year old sister stayed in his new fortress
Deployment
the lostian army numbered when the black souls army landed in attelo some 7000 men at army's with only 70 knights with only 50 hand gunners. the lostian fleet was away from port fighting off a pirate fleet which had attacked the mohammad the great naval base.
the imperial army at the time numbered around 250000 split up across the empire but the largest host was in Castilian and had 40000 men.
the young emperor army was know around 30000 men. however these weren't the men at arms of the imperial army these were heavy infantry. he was also able to call upon 3000 salt isle tribes men which served as a reserve. he had knights and pistolers as well which acted at a flanking force.
Asirs fleet was large. his war galleys swept aside the Castilian warships facing him.
The Engagement
battle of attelo-asir landed his troops west of the port city of attelo and his army made a quick march for the city. the duke of lostia sallyed forth from his city telling the young emperor his cause was doomed and he was sure that his brother would pardon him for his action. asir styling himself the dragon emperor said he would give the duke one chance to pledge his support to his house or face destruction. the duke road home and the army of black souls lay siege to the duchy's capital. as was promised almost all of the lostian lords pledged themselves to the new emperor. adding 4000 fresh troops to his army. after a week some of the duke's knights were able to smuggle his children out of the city and to Mohammad the great naval base where the lostia fleet lay at anchor. two day later the invaders sacked the city and house Asiri claimed it first victory.
the empress response-when the empress regent heard that her step son had invaded declaring himself sultan emperor she fell into an incensed rage. she order all but one of The sultans seven swordemperorthe principality of seterchaeliteinfantrythe scimitari to slow this army.
word from the west-asir was about to push to the straits when two letters came from attelo. one said that his bride was waiting for him in attelo for him to marry. the second said that the Castilian army had been sighted on the march. he dedicated to leave 5000 of his troops on the road to the straits so that he many renew his attack there. he then ordered the duke to send his army west to reforce that position. he would take the rest of his army with all his cavalry to attelo. he would have his wedding then march west crush the Castilian them march east again. he was marrying Charlotte gratiei one of the san antiona great family daughters. she was 20 year old. the two were wed in attelo and that night he contaminated the marriage. the next day he march west with his army
battles of kezeltiza and the selca river-the two host would first meat at kezeltiza. the Castilian army out numbered the young emperor but his army was more experienced. the prince of Castilian lead his army from the front. Asir arranged his men in a concave bow in order to surround loyalist army. prince emilo had twice the number of knights and cavalry. 4 times the hand gunners and he had more men at arms. asir knew this and wasn't frightened. the battle started at mid day. asir warched with icy calm as emilo ordered a cavalry charge. he lead from the front smashing apart the line which confronted him. asir ordered forward his reserves pistoliers and tribes men who clashed with the knights. behind them ordered ranks of men at arms and hand gunners marched behind them. Asir allowed his bow to brake in the middle then he sprung his trap. his knights sung round behind the Castilian army. the flanks of his bow then closed like a sharks jaw and crushed the Castilian army. the Castilian couldn't use there hand guns. however Asir army could. thousands died. asir didn't even bloody his sword he watched from horse back. the towns people of kezeltiza watched in horror as the Castilian army was slaughtered. prince Emilio was killed. his nephew and heir lead what was left of the army from the filed abandoning the town. he attempted to make his stand at secla river. he ordered bow men to plant there spikes and his army covered the three bridged of the river. he ordered his knights to head home with ordered to raise more troops and what was left of his hand gunners were places in reserve. the black soul army arrived three day after the Castilian had set up. asir decided his men needed to see him lead and lead his cavalry allegiance the center bridge. he crushed the center forces and his cavalry attack the rear of the archers. Emilio nephew 22 year old perdo offered a challenge to the dragon emperor. asir accepted. emilo ordered his fire gauntlets be given to him. these were enchanted with fire magic. which coated the gauntlets and anything they touched with fire which wouldn't met the blade or burn pedro. the two clashed mid day on the second day of battle. pedros fire didn't frighten asir after all he was called the dragon emperor. but compared to asir he was a novice and asir countered every move the new prince made. after about an hour asir plunged his sword into Pedro heart. he then ordered pedros men to swear allegiance to him and pedos army joined asir.
march west-onhe
invasion of setercha-as prince peter was about to send his army's south again his lands were invaded. the frontier army crossed his boarder and started pillaging the lands of the frontier. Asir had also ordered the duke of lostias army to attack from the south. his army destroyed the forces facing it and soon the prince and his army's were forced to defend there capital. Asir marched north east hoping to find support in the interior of the empire. what he found were small army loyal to his half brother. few joined his banner. so he turned west and invaded setercha facing a three way attack peter ordered all his troops to the capital, locked the gates and prepared for siege. the empress regent ordered her army's to once again march west. this time however they had over whelming numbers. when word reached Asir that an army was coming from the east he had is wife and son sent back to the salt isle. he then had a meeting with his lords. there combined host numbered around 34000 men of which 19000 were men of the army of black souls. the force opening them however was estimated to be twice there size. main army's had fought with those odds and won. but after a long campaign the armys were tired. Asir however had one last role of the dice he had sent word to his family in san antiona asking fro help. with this hope Asir order his lords to hold strong. 2 months passed and the army didn't arrive but then one late summer day it did. a host of 70000 men with hand guns catapults and three brand new cannons. Asir broke his siege and allowed the frontier army with elements of the verainberg army to conduct the siege alone. the last great battle of the war was about to be fought.
battle of the black filed
asir ordered his army to form in a line with a weak center. in the center he placed mostly hand gunners which he ordered to be in lose formation to act more indapendantly. he held his 300 knights and 70 pistolers in reverse along with 400 heavy infantry and 1000 tribes men. he knew he could not hold the line defiantly so he instead he ordered his catapults destroyed or sent to help the frontiersmen and there siege. he plan was to gradually give ground one flank attacking while the other moved back and then the other flank would do the same until they came to the siege line where the frontiersmen could help them. battle commenced in the early morning. asir order his left flank to attack first while the right and center gave ground. they fought for about 4 hours then the right took its place and launch an attack while the left gave ground. by late evening as the sun began to set the loyalist army launched it cavalry against the center forcing Asir to commit his reserves. by night fall the two armys were engaged in a bloody melee. Asir seeing that this would destroy his cause ordered a retreat back to attelo. the duke of lostia said he would cover the retreat. by dawn the filed was soaked in blood and the scorching sun turned the red blood black.

Asir army know made its forlorn march back to attelo and there back to the salt isle taking anyone who was willing to go with them. his army was down to a third of its strength. the rebel lostian lords who had taken up army's for asir know had to hold the line against a host 8 times it size. they were able to burn every bridge before them which slowed the loyalists advance. in attelo it took 2 week to get every person they could on a ship and on to the salt isles. the last man to leave was Asir him self just a day after the imperial army arrived.

all Asiri loylasit in the empire are killed resulting in over 10000 deaths after the end of the war
Aftermath
the house of Asir lived on as Asir was not killed and his son. this would result in another war
Historical Significance
Legacy
during the war the sultan empress had draguta simonaevna gregoryvic (her husbands lover and mother of Asir 1st) and her entire family where killed along with there army and alot of there people. her body and all of her sisters where hanged by trees along the road towards there family castle. this became know as the hang mans highway and the curst road to this day. there is also a ghost story of the lady of the noose and its says a lady with a noose around her neck stalks the road.
