The Conflict
Prelude
prince Nikolai was tired of being ruled by the sultan. he had been forced to pay massive taxes to the empire. he had been told story of the old princes who ruled there own land and he wanted this. so when the sultans governor in the region ordered more taxes to be collected and to send most of his army north to fight a boarder war against the united tsardoms he snapped. he made his way to the church in the Briganain capital of vadara and crowned himself king declaring his independence from The twin sultanates of Castilian and Abria
Deployment
king Nikolai 1st ordered his army to arrest the imperial army garrison in the country. after wards he ordered his army of 23000 to set up defenses around the country.
The Engagement
the imperial army crossed into Nikolai kingdom under the command of Mustafa Pasha. Nikolai led his army personally and lead 15000 men and engaged the imperial army at the battle of . The battle lasted a day and a night resulting in the death of mustafa pasha. out raged at this defeat the 15 year old sultan Enver 1st lead an army of mainly imperial Janissary guards, the scimitari and the Sultans order of magic along with troops from setercha under prince belgor 2nd and Ameron Mentanvic to invaded. This was no humble army. these formations were the best the sultans army had.
fighting many small defensive battles and using winter to buy him time he gradually relented ground until Nikolai order his forces to the capital which was then placed under siege. while this siege was taking place the battle of andrea took place.
battle of Andrea
while not a massive battle it was important for ameron. 7000 of his slav troops were left to defend the small village and farm of Andrea. advancing against him was 12000 troops under Simon bursov and Mikhail mazuich. knowing the enemy was on the way he his 2000 of his troops in the forest in the north and dug spikes along the road from the farm to the village. he also kept his cavalry on the western side of the road and 3000 men in the village. ameron deliberately enticed the enemy into the forest where his skirmishers slaughtered the enemy. brusov ordered in his archers but they were killed in a charge by ameron. mazuich charged with his knights not seeing the spikes impaled themselves on the spikes. this broke mazuich's cavalry forces and he was killed. ameron then attack brusov direclty and killed several knights and he and his troops broke brusov
after three weeks of siege boris's people began to starve and the imperial siege artillery corp along with the relentless wall attacks by the the scimitari force Nikolai hand. he ordered a break out. his army charged from the gaits and pushed through the siege lines.
ordering them to make for the united tsardoms boarder. he took a corp of his own knights and charged the sultans tent. in the ensuing battle he was shot off his horse by a crossbow bolt and the rest of his knights were either killed or captured. out of his remaining army 3000 were able to escape. after the war Briganaies crown was taken and the title prince of Brigansia was destroyed and the area fully intagrated into The twin sultanates of Castilian and Abria
Aftermath
Briganaies resent the empire ever since and a strong sense of identity remains in the area.
