Overview
The nation of Faur'ridar'ru is a nation that now serves as the homeland of the
Nasyk and the
Faecha. The nation has a tumultuous past as a lawless and dangerous place, where if the cold did not kill you then the
Malisyk Cult will.
In modern times, the nation provides some of the most hardy colonists and powerful
Auric Meta wielders.
History
A Nation of Misfits
The Nasyk never fit in to the overall scheme of the Verin or the Sazashi. They were survivors, sent to live alone in the most inhospitable regions of the
Jhoutai mainland. This land was the northern most regions; covered in snow, glaciers, and mountains. It was secluded, which fit the solitary Nasyk just fine.
Another
Kind joined the Nasyk in their frozen lands. The
Faecha, seeking to escape the genocide of their people at the hands of
Kyzan fled to the cold lands of Faur'ridar'ru.
A Dark Reputation
The lands of Faur'ridar'ru stayed mostly untouched during the
Sazashi Revolution, though the only battle that took place there solidified a reputation that would take millennia to remove.
The Slaughter of Glacial Pass, as it came to be known, was the only expedition of the
Verin military into Faur'ridar'ru. The Verin military, struggling to push against the Verin frontline, probed at a flanking maneuver, which brought them into the frozen north.
The harsh winter weakened both the Nasyk and Verin Army. The Nasyk, being lead by
Khytask, were ordered to hold the north at all costs. They were beginning to starve, and the Nasyk prayed they could pilfer the Verin's supplies to survive. When the Verin army moved through the north, they suffered a similar shortage, starving and weak, they were an easy fight for the Nasyk forces.
When Khytask and his men found no supplies on their Verin foes. Desperation and fear set in, Khytask, out of desperation, began to devour the dead Verin and ordered his men to do the same. The move of survival, was seen as horrific by the Verin survivors, who fled and reported the atrocity to the rest of the world. From that point on, the Nasyk held the reputation as cannibals, one that would only worsen with the rise of the
Malisyk.
The Rise and Fall of the Malisyk
The reputation of Faur'ridar'ru worsened over the years, as a cult consisting of cannibalistic paramilitary Nasyk took the vacuum of power that was left in the desolate nation. This new organization, known as the
Malisyk Cult dominated the lands using a series of constructed fortresses in the jagged mountains.
They attacked anyone and everyone in their territory, the worse hit was the
Faecha who fought in a brutal war for survival against the Malisyk. These savage Nasyk took up the mantle as a dark assassians organization. Many powerful assassinations across the Universe were carried out but hired Malisyk, they were easy to blame as any one they hired to kill was found partially cannibalized.
The Reign of the Malisyk came to end when Aempis combined forces with the
Faecha to assassinate the leader of the Malisyk. With the leader eliminated in what was known as the
Blood Snow Offensive, the Malisyk crumpled, leaving the rest of the
Nasyk and
Faecha to rebuild a government from the ground up.
A Nation of Survivors
Faur'ridar'ru signed aboard
The ValuSelu Pact without hesitation, joining the rest of the Nations. The nations primary responsibility came to expansion and survival. The Nasyk were the first to be sent off to new planets, staking their claims and setting up infrastructure for other Nations to settle.
The Faecha, one of two Verins primarily in the ValuSelu Pact, serve as powerful
Auric mages be it on the battlefield or in Mental Healthcare.
Economy
Minerals
Faur'ridar'ru has the largest landmass of any other Sazashi Nation. This means that underneath the mountains and glaciers is
Jhoutai's largest mineral deposits. They export these to the rest of the Valuselu Pact, fueling the economy and military machine with both metals and gems for Meta work.
Skillsets
Their most used resource comes in the form of it's people. Nasyk are very popular for use in colonization work, their ability to survive makes them invaluable for staking out claims for the ValuSelu Pact, who compensates them heavily for their work. Faecha, with their impressive Auric capabilities are renown for being able to sooth minds and treat mental illnesses.
Government
The Government of Faur'ridar'ru is a loose organization of City-States partaking in a Nationwide Congress. With Faur'ridar'ru being so sparse, congress has to meet up in a virtual space, where they debate and agree upon the affairs of the nation. Each City-State is allowed to pass its own laws, since each city is so different from the other.
Culture
Faur'ridar'ru culture prides itself on the few things it has. With limited building space underneath the glaciers, each foot of livable space becomes a new canvas for Nasyk to sculpt and shape. Grand architecture is a fine art to the Nasyk, and their mountain homes can become elaborate if not cramped halls.
They Faur'ridar'ru culture is also one of partial isolationism, many Nasyk and Faecha will stake out their own claims, seeking to make a name for themselves among the stars as someone who survived the unsurvivable.
Ownership of Planets
Faur'ridar'ru often does not claim new planets, but will take those that many other nations don't see value in. These planets are often harsh and nearly unlivable, but to Faur'ridar'ru that is seen as a challenge. Many of this nations owned worlds become exotic tourism ports or hard to uproot fortress worlds.
