Taiia gives and she takes. We live and we die according to her will. The crops grow or wither under the frost if she chooses. Does she have a care for us? I do not know. But I know she hears the prayers I offer in the temple, and sometimes she grants what I ask. She is life. And in the end, she is death as well, and she will eat my soul and let me be part of her if it pleases her.

Tenets of Faith
Doctrine: "The Sun burns - giving and taking life"
Conviction: The Sun is
Essence: warmth, heat, harsh
Core: fiery
The Faith of the Sun, although absorbed by the faithful followers of both the Goddess of Dawn and The Morning Lord, holds Taiia as the first Goddess in the Moata Solar System and the first Sun deity.
Taiia as two aspects, she is both the Giver and the Destroyer of Life in the Universe :-
The sun's rising every morning is a reminder of her favour and life-giving and sustaining properties. The sun's setting and absence through the night is a taste of her wrath, promised to those who do not follow her.
The church of Taiia which is made up of a number of different sects, falling generally into the categories of Lifegiver-focused and Destroyer-focused. The church has no central authority to establish certain sects as "orthodox" and others as "heretical," so the sects manage to coexist; sometimes cooperating and sometimes warring upon each other.
The main clergy of each sect are easily recognized by their shaved heads and Taiia's Sun holy symbols that they prominently wear. While each sect has its own symbol, all incorporate the image of the solar disk.
Taiia's followers hope to be joined with her after death, their souls consumed to feed her eternal flames. Those she does not favor, for whatever reason, are condemned to remain in darkness, apart from her, for eternity.
The Blind Mendicants and the Purifying Flame are closer to following Taiia herself. Roles and practices depend on the sect to which a person belongs.
THE BLIND MENDICANTS
The Blind Mendicants symbol shows the disk with two of its eyes closed, and a third slightly open.
The Blind Mendicants is a Life-giver focused sect is highly mystical, emphasizing ascetic practice (including wearing a blindfold or even self-blinding, poverty, and fasting) and long hours of contemplative prayer while a harp plays. Through these practices, the Blind Mendicants (both clerics and laity) hope to achieve a state of heightened awareness of Taiia's presence and power, experiencing the purifying power of her flames and the bliss of her favour.
THE PURIFYING FLAME
The Purifying Flame sect's disk has four arms, wielding Taiia's favoured weapons.
The Purifying Flame is a this Destroyer-focused sect which views "The purifying power of her flames" to mean something rather different. Its members share a duel focus: prophecy and judgment. Members of the Purifying Flame cultivate an oracular gift, believing that Taiia grants them visions and insight into her will and her favour. Emphasizing her dark aspect, however, these prophecies usually involve her judgment on a world that does not follow her adequately. They carry out her judgments among mortals—through systems of justice when possible or by extraordinary means including assassination and war.
Many think of it as another temple of The Morning Lord.

FOLLOWERS
As a supporter of those in need, and an adversary of all that is pure evil. Her few priests and clerics that remain are well-received wherever they go. Taiia's doctrine teaches that in the beginning of all things in the Moata Solar System, there was violent struggle between the powerful darkness and the fading light, until Moatama arrived. Moatama took light to shape it as the Sun creating Taiia as The Sun's guardian. The Faith of the Sun, although absorbed by the faithful followers of both the Goddess of Dawn and The Morning Lord, holds Taiia as the first Goddess in the Moata Solar System and the first Sun deity.

The Faith of the Sun
Taiia is fickle and passionate, giving and withholding her favours without evident regard for alignment or fairness. She can be as harsh, as she can be courteous. Her worshipers represent the whole range of mortal life: adoring devotees who seek mystical union with her light, fanatic assassins who believe they are carrying out her sentence of condemnation, and humble peasants who plead for bountiful harvests and mild winters. Different people and different sects emphasize one of her aspects over the other.Taiia's followers hope to be joined with her after death, their souls consumed to feed her eternal flames.
