Lathander/Amaunator
"Lathander is considered an aspect of Amaunator, as Amaunator is considered an aspect of Lathander. Both are considered aspects of The Morning Lord, in all his titles and names. Just as The Morning Lord is considered aspects of both Lathander and Amaunator. Where one never-ends - so the others are also never-ending."
~ Strom (Cleric)
* Amaunator, The Morning Lord = Daylight & The Morning Sun - order, law, and time = Neutral Good
* Lathander, The Morning Lord = Dawn & The Rising Sun - hope, beginnings, birth, renewal, spring and youth, as well as athletics, self-perfection, vitality and creativity = Neutral Good
The Morning Lord favours those who dispelled the Undead, endeavour to have good lives, and blesses those who plant new life. He is viewed as a harsh but fair deity.
The Morning Lord liked order and organisation, planning forward, and striving for better. As a cautious deity who did not just try to write down everything to be certain about it, he also made sure to go through the pain of contracting, signing, sealing, and notarizing everything. He has a constant willingness to focus on hopes for the future, rather than wallow in the failures of the past.

Mythology & Lore
Lathander/Amaunator is considered to be younger than Usas'asa (the Goddess of Dawn). Even then, far younger than the Goddess Taiia (guardian of the Sun), whom mentored Usas'asa - more like his guide and cohort.
At some point in Esau history, after the Tempil Epoch and near the end of the Blackly, Lathander disappeared (considered by some to have gone to find the missing Zariel - only to find them the Lord of Avernus in The Hells). During that time, The Morning Lord was replaced by the resurrected aspect known as Amaunator, presumably confirming the truth of the theory that the two were one and the same.
Moreover, the formerly lawful neutral Amaunator apparently inherited the goodness of Lathander, as he became lawful good.
Amaunator and Lathander are worshiped as the same being by many of the Morning Lord's followers. It is unknown if they were always one-in-the-same, or actually separate beings at any time. It is considered by some that possibly Lathander was simply granting spells to the followers of Amaunator.
There is always another dawn.

Each of The Morning Lord's clergy respect art, creativity, liberty, and culture; promote betterment of oneself; and strive to bring hope to their followers and others. Many of these followers work in various creative arts. They are intolerant of evil, (especially Undead), and inaction that causes evil to prosper. Most ceremonies are held at dawn, and actions and contracts agreed to at sunrise are to be blessed by The Morning Lord. Funerals, among his followers, are held at dusk, and are followed by a wake that lasts until dawn.
