Cadence Dragon Brother
Prince Cadence Dragon Brother (a.k.a. Cay)
A Nemeli Prince and only child born to Sovereign Cadence the Last. He marries Rosililly and they have five children: Cadence AKA Denny, Oscar, Aden, Rosca, and Rozalea. He has the Gifts Plant Magic and Water Magic affinities of Elemental Magic, as well as a bit of Spirit Magic.
He grew up training to be a knight and Sovereign after his father, although he wasn't super keen on the idea of ruling. He was very close to Rhythmus growing up and all through school; as Ard Ri of the dragons, Rhythmus' mother Allegra was a very close partner to the Sovereign.
When the boys reached knighthood, the two set off together on their first real quest; it took them south to the mainland where something was causing disturbances on Lake Seula. They met a naked lady who turned out to be Rosililly; she had just become human and didn't know anything about being human. They solve the mystery, and Cay falls in love with Rosililly in the process. Unfortunately, since she was originally a Star Fae, she can't go back to Nemel with him (they're a collective and she can't physically go that far). He decides to stay with her and damn the consequences. Rhythmus stays as well, knowing that returning to Nemel will ruin his best friend's happiness.
Cay builds a home for them just east of the Star Fae Grove that will one day become the sight of Roseholm. They are in the middle of freaking nowhere though. He's an industrious guy though, and good at building boats thanks to his academy training and time spent with the Order of the Waves- not to mention houses and other infrastructure (thanks Order of the Frost). He built a boat that he kept on the eastern coast on the spot that would later become Star Harbor in order to trade with the Free City of Gen. Rosililly could not travel as far as the coast, but she go as far as she could when he made his trips. He built a small place for them to stay together before they would go their separate ways, and this became the eventual site of Lillirest. After a few years, as he grew less afraid of being found, he build another boat on Lake Seula to trade with the Ushanni of Iris and the Temple to Astrid- you guessed it, one day a town would be here, and finally he gets one named for him: Cadence. Rhythmus always accompanied Cay on his sea voyages, but they both felt a dragon would stand out too much in Iris or Astrid- which was fine because by that time Rosililly had a bunch of children and needed Rhyth anyway. This also meant that as the kids got older, one or two were allowed to go on lake trips (and by allowed I mean help with manual labor).
Cay taught many of his homeland's traditions and crafts to his wife and children. The materials available in the southern lands, as well as time and innovations, did change them over time- such as crocheting, which evolved into lace making.
