Jupiter: Interplanetary Hub
Geography
The majority of Jove's mass is gaseous hydrogen and helium. Even to this day, nobody has set foot on the core of the planet, as the pressure, wind, and overall danger of such a project makes it nigh impossible to execute; however most suspect the surface to be relatively smooth and made of "common" materials. The skies of Jupiter are littered with gas mines and orbital cities, producing vast amounts of hydrogen fuel for rockets, and deuterium for fusion reactors.
All of Jove's moons are unremarkable in terms of mineral wealth compared to similar celestial bodies, however due to Jove's central location, large size, and variety of resources: it provides an excellent strategic point for corporate and state factions to build embassies, neutral ports, supply and trade depots, and habitation rigs.
