ow known as The Mason, this deity of the Avanís Pantheon was once known as 'The Smith', before Avlar's ascent. He is the forgemaster who crafted the great weapons that the Gods used to do battle against the Titans, and the sculptor who helped the first of mankind shape the bodies of the fallen Titan to create many notable landmarks within Daënfel. During the time of the Kingdom of Eá-galwen, the Smith roamed the lands and helped Man build great monuments - Emperor's Arch and the Keep at Carrag Nuine among many others. It was his design that sealed the gates of The Maw, with the aid of the other Gods of Daënfel. The Mason is a herald of creation but not of life. His followers know that his works bring death and progress in equal measure. His marrital union with the Lady Death was a defining bond within the Avanís Pantheon - The Smith forged the blades of war and his Lady gathered the souls of the fallen to ensure they would be sown anew. His purpose in the pantheon changed when he built the headstone for his own wife out of the rubble of Carrag Nuinë, memorialising her death at the Great Crematorium outside of Whimbrel. This monument was the last that he built, commemorating the huge amount of lives lost during the conquest of Avlar. Now, the Mason is rarely seen in this world - his work at The Maw was torn asunder and the people of Daënfel now eek out their survival amongst lands infested with monsters. People still turn to the Mason's strength and expertise in craftsmenship for worship - artisans, widows and soldiers all call on the Mason in times of need.
