Emperor's Arch
The titanic archway that spans between two headlands at the southern end of Daënfel began its construction as soon as Avlar conquered the region, before he had even finished his conquest.
A huge statue dominated the centre of the arch, originally intended to be built in Avlar's likeness, however his scandalous ascent to godhood left the nation divided. Instead, the statue was finished in the likeness of The Mason, wearing an Emperor's regalia and wielding both the royal sceptre and his deific symbol, the hammer.
The arch functions as a lighthouse, watchtower and fortress. Tucked beneath its sides are a number of stone dwellings that are inhabited by both soldiers who guard the passage and workmen who maintain the monument.
A large temple to The Chevalier resides here, with worship given to the flames that warn sea vessels away from the cliffs surrounding the structure.
Three pillars connect the marble arch to the headlands beneath, with two narrow channels at sea level for boats to pass through. The arch is constantly lit with huge bonfires that mark the headland for vessels.
