till worshipped in death, all of Daënfel remembers the child of The Green Knight, known only as Death. The 'Daughter' of the Avanís Pantheon, Death's role in the The Cycle is that of the 'Guide' - collecting the essence of souls that had departed their bodies and easing their passing towards the Life Stream. Death ensured the preservation of a soul's energy, for it to be handed to The Arbiter and sown back into the world stronger than before. During the time of Avlar's conquest and ascension, he slew Death and took her place as usher to the fallen. There are few who remember this pivotal moment in Daënfel's history as it was over three centuries ago now, but it has been passed down from generation to generation that things have not quite been the same since this change of station. 'The Daughter' was wed to The Mason, in a holy union across the Pantheon which brought harmony between the deities of this world. In her time there was relative peace amongst the Gods, which was shattered as Avlar ascended and The Cycle thrown out of balance. Death is represented as a short, young woman with porcelain skin and dark hair. She is often depicted wearing robes of black holding a scythe, or white robes holding a bouquet of flowers. Her virtues of innocence and compassion are still revered to this day, with many still mourning her loss. Centuries after her death, people still draw on the power of Death to symbolize the passing of a loved one, the reaping of a harvest or the spiritual strength found in a newborn baby. A cleric of The Avanís Pantheon can still channel some of the remaining energies of Death's power to cast divine spells, however her power is waning from this world. As such, a cleric can not call upon Death to bestow them power to cast spells above 5th level.
