he Arbiter presides over the lands of Daënfel and all life within - including both its beauty and its sorrow. The natural world hums to their rhythm, as they plant life anew in this world. A reticent and withdrawn being, the Caretaker takes many forms and quietly blends in with the inhabitants of Daënfel, choosing to work alone to fulfill their role in The Cycle. It is said that the Arbiter enjoys the company of their creations, delighting in the forests, rivers and fields of this world rather than playing politics with the other Gods. Thus, the Arbiter is considered strictly neutral in the religious warfare that can be felt in some places within The Dawning Empire. With Death gone and the God-King in her place, the Arbiter's role in the Cycle is less clear. Regardless, the Caretaker sees that life continues to bloom across Daënfel as surely as the sun rises and sets each day. The people of Daënfel praise the Arbiter in times of health and warmth, or plea to their generosity in times of famine or drought. Traditionally, farmers, mothers, druids or travellers setting out on a new adventure revere the Arbiter and ask for their blessing. They are often worshipped at religious ceremonies as well, especially those involving births, the planting of crops or during the spring and autumn equinoxes. The Everglow Tourney's and the associated cultural festivals often praise the Arbiter for sowing strength into the people of this world. Followers of the Arbiter tend to congregate in more rural environments, inspiring wisdom and understanding amongst the commonfolk. Benevolence is the primary form of worship, and this practiced often during all the seasons - "be as giving in times of famine as you would in times of health". This mechanism allows this deity to have a strong base amongst the people of this world without needing to fight for dominance with the other gods of the Pantheon. In fact, the Arbiter is the most commonly worshipped deity across the Empire, though primarily by those who do not hold the institutional power in this land. The Arbiter takes on many forms. Most notably throughout history, the Arbiter has appeared as; a kind elf with long-golden hair, a great spider, a talking bear, a white-robed weaver or a gale tempest. It is said that their form can shift at will, with legends often attributing any wise character as a manifestation of the Arbiter. Of all the deities in Daënfel, The Arbiter has the most cults and offshoots from the main Avanís Pantheon, as the many different cultures interpret their role in The Cycle differently. One such cult is that of the Web, who is known to operate in hiding throughout the fringes of the Empire.
