Dispel Magic

Effects

Select a target within 10 Tiles of you. Make an opposed Spellcasting Modifier check versus the target's Spellcasting Modifier. On a success, the target creature has each buff roll individually against Dispel magic, on a failed save the effects are ended immediately.
Dispelling Rituals
Ritual spells can be dispelled by the use of Dispel Magic. To Dispel a ritual, open a Ritual ticket and make a 1d20+Spellcasting Modifier roll against the caster's Spell DC. On a success, you expend an equal number of Ritual Component Pouches to the spell, and the ritual is dispelled. On a failure, the spell is not dispelled, but you do not expend any pouches. If you fail to beat the DC by 5, you expend half the pouches anyway (rounding down, to a minimum of 0). Failing by 10 or more, you expend all of the pouches. Succeed or fail, place a Magic POI indicating a Dispel Magic spell has been cast and the outcome, with appropriate tracking information.
Out of Combat Usage
Players may have dispel magic cast upon them via a contested roll of rather than pressing the button in RPR. The roll for this is: 1d20+Spell DC versus 1d20+Spell DC   You must have access to RPR spell dispel magic in order to cast this. You must obtain player consent to cast dispel magic OOCly. If you do not gain this consent, a player in the scene your are casting it may interrupt you with a PVP intent as your spell is considered a hostile action. This PVP intent must be made immediately after you cast the spell for it to be interrupted. If you have obtained consent, the player(s) who offered the OOC consent may not interrupt you. Any onlookers who have not consented may still engage PVP to stop you.   Certain disguises may be removed by use of dispel magic when cast out of combat. Disguise Self and Seeming can be removed by dispel magic via contested roll. Polymorph and alter self are not impacted by dispel magic.
