Isle of Qosx
Also called Qosxbrand, the Isle of Qosx lies just outside the Bay of Lambs in the Barrow Sea. Despite its proximity to Ethelbrand, the greatest sea-power in all of Eastern Kynaj, Qosx remains largely a mystery. A single mining colony exists on its northern shores, but the Ethels only occasionally occupy the area, and it is unknown how much wealth the area yields.
Most of Qosx is occupied by a single, gargantuan mountain, from which the name "Qosxbrand" derives. The mountain is believed to be the source of myths about the Chiuin Ban, the Snow Queen, and other sorceresses and Hadrashi queens. "It is always Winter on the Mountain" is a common expression in Ethel, meaning that most things, in their hearts, never change.
The Qosxites are as mysterious as the island itself. Some are said to have come into contact with the one Ethelite mining colony, and merchants have commissioned sketches of them, but little else is known of their ways, lives, or even their tongue.
