The Zaffrewood

The Zaffrewood is a large tropical forest that resides in the northern central region of the continent of Albion. Seated over a large rift that opens near to the Court of Night where the Shadowfell and Feywld interlope in the Veneer, the forest itself is kept in a constant state of perpetual night, the sky always looking dark and shadowy with no daylight to be seen.

Geography

• The Star Basin: This large pool centered at the top most region of the forest has a crescent moon-like shape to it, with a standing stone seated upon an island sitting at the center of it. The water always reflects the stars and clouds of the Night Court, as this is one of few Feygates that allow traversal to the Veneer, where the Feywild and Shadowfell co-mingle.
• The Blackbog: This swamp at the western most part of the Zaffrewood holds a number of ruins from ancient times before the Cosmic Sunder tore a rift and let the Shadowfell and Night Court pour and coalesce into the Material Plane. It holds a number of inky black swamp pools, Shadowfell native creatures, as well as other beings like the more violent tribes of the Caste, Yuan-ti, Lizardfolk, and even naturally occurring Undead.
• The Glowingwood: The forest to the east of the Zaffrewood is blooming with bright fluorescent flora and fauna, and is often where the Caste of the Starsoul is the most seen. It is illuminated and beautiful and full of all sorts of both malevolent and benevolent wildlife.
