The Dross

The Dross is a massive expanse of colorless valleys and dulling, dreary mountains, running the length of the western side of Thor Bardam’s landmass. While the Shadowfell spills out into both the surface and subterranean levels of the land, the Underdark claims the earth below, constantly at war with the ever expanding dwarvish kingdom.

Geography

• The Ashen Valley: A wide expanse of warm grey grassland that covers the majority of the territory, save for the mountains and hills that break up its line. • Barrengap: A colossal volcano residing at the middle western part of the territory by the coast, parallel to the Elvish Lands. It is believed to be uninhabitable, its lava and fire burning the purest white of the hottest heat.

Natural Resources

• Ebonwood: A special wood that appears to grow while still carrying the properties of petrified wood, making it harder and stronger than the traditional material. • Surrogite: A special mineral mined from the Shadowfell, believed to be a hardened version of an even purer material originating from the Astral Plane. It’s versatile and malleable geological makeup allows it to serve as a replacement for many spell components requiring gemstone or other crystal and geological supplies.  • Hizagrium: A rare ore found deep within the Underdark, this metal’s raw white-flecked green-grey form is often found in clumps of mud in subterranean caverns. When refined properly, it’s white flecks change the makeup into that of one similar to steel, allowing users to benefit from its electrical and magical warding properties due to its lack of exposure to the Weave. This makes it perfect for warding armor or shields, magic devouring weaponry, and for mechanisms that need to contain or rewire magical pathways in a specific pattern, such as in the forming of constructs or warforged.
